*Spoilers ahead*

Wtched Creed 2 last night. Loved it. As someone who is quite obsessed with the Rocky movies and seen them hundreds of times seeing Ivan Drago on the big screen again is something I never imagined. Even Brigitte Nielsen makes a cameo as Drago's ex wife lol.

The fight scenes were good, Victor Drago looked like a Rhino in size. I seem to remember Adonis Creed fighting as a light Heavyweight in Creed yet in 2 he's fighting as Heavyweight which I didn't quite understand as he's not big enough. Victor Drago was at least one weight class above him.

Overall very enjoyable, Sly was great as Rocky as always. This movie combined much of Rocky 2, 3 and 4 which is great although I'm not sure where the story goes from this point. I think I'd like to see them end it there on a high as I could see Creed 3 being a bit substandard.

Did you start cracking up at the "I'm dangerous" line in the fight?

me and my friends did, and everybody was looking at us weird.

Yeah was very clichéd in parts but of course it was always going to be. Watching an old Ivan Drago ruck up at Rocky's restaurant and then telling Rocky how he lost everything, including his wife was weird seeing as that's exactly what happened to Rocky as well.

I did like how Rocky is reluctant to talk about the Drago fight and that all he's willing to say about it is that the fight broke things in him that had never been fixed since. That was a great line I thought.

Definitely need to watch Rocky 4 and Creed 2 back to back sometime

Actually liked it more than the first

Me too.

Was actually a great film, that looked beyond the simple 'revenge' agenda.

Watched Venom last night. Another mess. Still don't understand if it's supposed to be part of the MCU or not. There was absolutely nothing linking it to anything related to the MCU or any references that I saw anyway.

It's not related that's why Superb.

Watched Aquaman last night.

Some decent bits but mainly a bit 'meh'.

Mike how did it compare to the other Worlds of DC movies ?

posted on 14/12/18

Probably similar to Wonder Woman, better than the likes of Suicide Squad and Justice League, but still not like the Nolan trilogy.

It was a decent film, but it felt really dumbed down and child like. Obviously not expecting gore or explicit language etc but the way the story was narrated at times etc felt so forced and basic like it was taken from a kids story book.

Amber Heard though

Fair enough. I've heard it compared to the first Thor movie. If Aquaman is successful then I think that these DC movies are all going to be standalone going forward.

I did hear there is absolutely no mention on the other Justice League members in this movie which is damning in itself. The team up movie is dead as far as DC are concerned.

Yeah it’s as if the JL doesn’t exist in this movie considering it’s after the events of that movie.

When talking to Aquaman though she does mention how ‘you beat Steppenwolf so you can do this’ so there is a slight link.

I live in Oz and I had a good mate from LA come visit me when he was over here for some of the Aquaman filming on the GC. Apparently Jason Momoa is not the easiest to work with. Throw him and the rest of the JL leads together on set and it was hard work.

They just didn't have the dynamic that Marvel have with a lot of their main characters. The marvel actors mostly seem to genuinely like each other which the JL don't apparently have (as yet, if ever).
