I really enjoyed the Hobbit trilogy. Not as epic as LOTR obviously but it's good fun to watch.

You dislike fantasy though correct?

Completely agree about the hobbit. Hated it.
LOTR books havent aged well but they started it all basically.
The films will never be done better. I loved them.

Huh? Why? Theyre loosely based on the Hobbit and awful.
Characters throughout who have no business being in them. Love stories that were thought up in a 15 min meeting.
What were you really expecting from LOTR when you saw them? They could not have been done better.

Have you seen the extended versions?
And rushed seems a strange word to use when discussing LOTR films
With the massive budget came a massive cast and crew, amazing props and costumes and some cutting edge tech at the time (Smeagle).
I dont think they couldve done better with the time/budget/tech available. Will never be done better. You can feel the love that went into those films.

In retrospect the Hobbit was never a good film, it was an ok book at best, but certainly not movie material. Little worried that the Martian, or gravity 2 as im calling it atm, is going to end up the same. But let me finish reading it first

I am over TV shows. Movies from now on.
First up, Evil Dead 2
TV shows > Movies these days in my opinion.
With a few exceptions the real quality is in TV shows these days. I find myself watching less and less movies.
Haven't watched Rome yet but I'll give it a try when I'm done with Banshee.
