Honestly think we can be in the top 2, though would be happy with 3rd as well.

Going in the right direction at long last.

Martin O'Neil is moaning in the press tonight about Naismith "refereeing the game".

He conveniently forgets that the only reason his team have a goal is due to refereeing incompetence. That and the fact that his team were kicking us up and down the park.

I don't know whats happened to him, things weren't like this when he was at Celtic

It was a tough and bruising encounter - loads of commitment but little quality. A good point for us Scots

That and the fact that his team were kicking us up and down the park.

Apart from a wayward elbow I don't remember a bad tackle in the game.

MON is right about Naismith, he among others were waiving imaginary cards after EVERY challenge. The Scots threw themselves to the ground at the notion of a challenge.

Anyways as I said earlier I think you just about deserved a draw and credit to you but take the blinkers off. It was embarrassing stuff at times, just like at CP, I thought that was a once off, how wrong I was. Play the game and quit the antics

No sour grapes btw, I think im being kind saying you deserved a draw when you scored from an OG and never had us under any kind of real pressure.

Well done on a great result for Scotland

Don't forget the offside goal your team got, Barry.

It may have been Ath, I just saw the one replay immediately after the goal and I thought Broony played him on, it looked that way to me. If im wrong, I am wrong

The fact WGS thinks the officials had a "terrific game" tells a lot

I thought Robbie Brady was excellent today, he's adapted brilliantly in that left back roll and his delivery is sensational. Would love him to be at Celtic

Barry any blind man and his dog could see the ireland goal was offside !!!!! a draw was probably a fair result in the end

Good summation, UTC.

Barry, you are the on with the blinkers on. The Irish were continually leaving the boot (and odd elbow) in both yesterday and in Glasgow. Naismith can be a moaning sod, but you can't deny there was reason to moan.

Our passing was poor yesterday but we still came away with a result to keep us right in the mix.

Daryll Murphy = Tony Cascarino, Target man for route 1.

Scotland did well to keep their cool against the 'physicality' and latin-esque wind-up's. Poor game, right result.

Crap game to watch.. I feel sorry for any neutrals that decided to tune in.

Ireland did nothing but kick lumps out of us.. McCarthy was lucky not to be booked within the first 10mins for a wild swipe at the back of Brown's legs.. He should've been off for that elbow.

Saying that, we never got going. Was a scrappy affair.

Needed the win though with Poland winning last night.

The next game in Georgia is key. It is a must win, and 3 points would put us in an excellent position.

We did not play well yesterday, but did not lose which is crucial. These end of season internationals are never easy.

I don't think we should lose sight of the fact that we were stinking in the first half. Probably the worst we've been in this campaign.

Credit to Strachan I suppose for not only making the change at the break but admitting he got it wrong. I still can't understand his decision to leave Anya on the bench.

That McCarthey elbow should have been a straight red and there was another that was pretty bad. Their goal was a mile offside. We more than deserved the draw

A point is better than nothing, but it isn't great either, and I feel we could have won the game had the officials done their job and not let Ireland's hatchet men ruin any decent football. They're hoofball merchants who knew we were the better footballing side, so they booted us off the park.

Much better point for Scotland than it is for Ireland. With fixtures pretty similar Scotland away to Georgia and home to Poland and Ireland being away to Poland and home to Georgia with 2 less points I think it has given Scotland a great chance to secure 3rd at least.

Also pretty sure best third place team gets qualification automatically so Scotland could be nicely placed if they get another 7+ points.
