£3mill? That's a fecking bargain for any attacker playing first team nowadays, let alone a highly rated young player.

We should be looking at him at that price.

Absolute nonsense. Standard from you.

No seriously, he'd be a good Sterling replacement for a fraction of the price.

I'm genuinely surprised that there isn't a bit more competition for this lad at £3m!

Not the finished product obviously but seemed to have real ability from what I remember.

Full credit to Everton if they get this one over the line at that price.

other teams have come in with higher offers but geri only wants to go to everton (or so I've read)

He has attitude problems which could explain that cost. Still quite low, expected double figures at least.

Which attitude problems?

I saw him sit on the bench for Everton with no issues patiently waiting for his chance then taking it. That shows a good attitude to me. As does wanting to move from a massive club to a smaller one just to play football.

Just like Milner really,he went from a club that has won 2 premier league titles in the last 4 years and regular champions league qualifiers to a club that's never won the premier league since it's inception and has qualified for the champions league once in 5 seasons.

Milner wants regular 1st team football so had to take a step down to get it.Fair do's on the lad to do that,he'd sooner be a player and win nothing than a benchwarmer for a big club but win trophies

Could be a great signing but I have read he is very pleased with himself on the whole.

He won Everton a fair few points when on loan and maybe he likes midweek off.

Apart from attitude issues, I recall Sevilla manager Unai Emery saying Deulofeu also had tactical issues that needed sorting.

He obviously feels wanted at Everton and that will massage his ego. Could be a big success providing he's prepared to put in the hard work, but not if he just wants to strut around the city feeling like a rock star.

Either way, for 3M Barça are pretty certain to insert a buyback clause for little more than 5 or 6.

Deulofeo doesn't / didn't appear to have an attitude problem while under the management of Martinez.

Maybe he managed the player correctly and played him to his personal strengths and not trying to force him to play a style that is not natural to him

Maybe Arouna, but it's not the only plausible explanation.

It's hard to tell, but talk about his alleged attitude issues has been around for quite some time. Perhaps his expectations when he joined Everton were different to what they are now. At the time, he'd only made 1 league appearance for Barça and played only a handful of games in total for the senior side.

Bear in mind this is a kid who since his younger years at Barça had been hyped up to be 'the next Messi', so after his relatively successful spell at Everton, he might have thought he was made and not have continued to work at Sevilla to improve himself.

As for playing him to his strengths, imo a 20 or 21-year-old with his degree of experience still has a lot to learn and a lot to polish if he's to become a top-tier footballler, and playing in different set-ups and styles can significantly contribute to that.

All pure speculation of course, and I hope he does well if he does eventually return to Everton. It would be good news not just for you guys, but also for Spanish football.
