Huth deal agreed?

Excellent news! It's one I was always hopeful we could get through, but it's good to see multiple suggestions that a deal has been agreed. I'm confident that Huth himself is happy to come.

The Nzonzi transfer is quite an odd rumour for me. Maybe we have bid, but unless Stoke are actively looking to offload him or he doesn't want to work with Mark Hughes then I can't see it being fruitful. It's a bit like the interest in Jamie Vardy: Why would Nzonzi come here from Stoke? Unless lots of money is involved (in which case I'm worried for a different reason) then at best it's surely a sideways step for the player?

I think he only has one year left so it could be move or see out his contract, or of course it could be a way to get a better deal!

According to the Mercury N'Zonzi rejected a new Stoke deal as he feels he is ready for European football and Sevilla have offered 3 million. So unless we're planning a serious cup push next year it's probably noises being made to get the Sevilla bid up?

Yep, just announced on Radio Leicester, undisclosed fee believed to be £3mil rising to £4mil. Absolute bargain.

Also, a £7mil bid is also believed to have been placed for N'Zonzi although this isn't expected to amount to anything.

I know that we were all more or less expecting it, but that's still a really important deal IMO. Whisper it gently, but that could turn out to be our most vital piece of business of the summer – just as getting him on loan was arguably the pivotal acquisition of last season. Does anyone disagree that, had Pearson not brought him in, we would very likely have gone down? Surely he was a key component in the Great Escape.

Yes, of course, we are all poised with bated breath and crossed fingers hoping on a Cambiasso extension. Who doesn't love to see talent like that in their squad? But Huth's ability not just to play well himself but also boost the value of players around him makes retaining him arguably the more important (if less obviously exciting) deal.

I hope everyone has seen Huth's most recent tweet

"Now the sexy football show rolls into Leicester!!"

So glad this has been done quickly

Sexy football? Does that mean we've put a bid in for Phil Jones....?

Key signing of the season enabling us to go three at the back saved the day and Nigel's Bacon. It got the best out of Morgan and enabled a more expansive midfield role for Cambiaso.

Great signing. Although my "sources" tell me that although Cambiasso loves it here, his wife wants away.

See sense woman, I know you got used to Prada in Milan but we've got Primark!

Saved Nigel's bacon Nev? Well, seeing as Nigel was the guy who brought Huth in on loan, perhaps Nigel saved his own bacon.

I wonder if his wife wants America then because there aren't all that many options left on the table. Pretty sure Cambiasso doesn't want to play in the MLS.

^ and given the fact he wants to stay, I'd say that's a certainty that he doesn't want to play in the MLS.

He turned down Independiente, Anderlecht and West Ham and I can't see his wife wanting Turkey so which clubs are left? Where does she want them to go I wonder?

Fox i throw it out there to see if anyone would bite

I've heard rumours both ways about what his wife allegedly wants - some say she doesn't want to live here, others say she's actually very happy here. I remember hearing of one interesting rumour that during the QPR match she was enjoying the company of Ulloa's family and Marcos Ayerza's family so hopefully things aren't that bad.

The most encouraging piece of news I've seen is that Cambiasso has turned down West Ham, meaning that if he does stay in this country then it'll very likely be with us. I suspect that the negotiations are relatively relaxed (as relaxed as football contract negotiations ever are, anyway) given that his brother is his agent and that I think he's enjoying just taking his time and considering his future. If we get to the start of pre-season and it's still not sorted then the ground might start looking a bit rockier.

I've heard independently from two decent "sources" that his wife wants him back in Argentina, even though he would be happy to stay.

As has been pointed out; it is one thing to want him back in Argentina and another thing getting a realistic offer. Here's hoping she doesn't get her way!

Prawn mate do you think he is hard up for caash or ever has to play again for money?

posted on 25/6/15

I thought he was divorced and his wife was already in Argentina?

He's already told Argentinian press that he's not going back there to play next year. They spotted him over there for a family visit/holiday a few weeks back and they asked him whether this meant he was coming back to join a club there. He politely told them that wasn't the case.

Having turned down West Ham, I'm pretty sure he'll either stay with us or go to somewhere like MLS.

Let's hope so.

He said he wanted to come to a club and be loved and he's acheived that. Will that happen for him playing in the MLS? I doubt it because the Yanks won't feel the way we do about him and show support for him like we do and Leicester are better than any team in the MLS.
