He's from Liverpool.
He'd love that
Players just get slated regardless of what they say, even if it’s in answer to a direct question: I’m surprised they agree to do any interviews at all.
England players always look as though they are about to face a firing-squad in the build up to tournaments,so I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea to examine whether this is the best atmosphere in which to engender team-spirit and desire to play for each other. They will play better if they enjoy it, it's just human nature.
But so long as England fans want them to “eat a little sh.it”, I don’t suppose they’ll ever get the kind of atmosphere going that some other nations do. Denmark won the Euros after they thought they hadn’t qualified, and were all recalled from the beach when they had a late reprieve, so they entered a tournament they had already written off, and they entered it relaxed, and with nothing to lose.
(And if they are going to "eat a little sh,.it", I don't think it should be Raheem Sterling. Maybe John Bercow, somebody like that).
Some things in life are boring. Some effective training is repetitive. Getting better at stuff can be tedious. It's just the way things go.

Hi Tux
No real issue but why when people have so much given to them on a plate do others have to put up with crap
Couldnt he have jollied it up by having a punch up?
That was what he usually did in night clubs on a boring night out....

It's this what strikes you right away as an outsider looking in at the English national team. It's absolutely crazy how the media stir up negativity before every major tournament. Never in my lifetime have I witnessed England going into a major tournament when the media haven't flooded the back and sometimes front pages with some kind of controversy.
What's more is the crazy amount of supposedly English fans who refuse to back their best players who happen to play for rivals of the club they support and worse the continued lambasting of them.
It can't be fun at all to play for England and it shows in the turgid performances, from sides I would put up in the top four in most tournaments I've watched.
Imagine this craziness; the media dredging up support, a load of positivity going into tournaments, as well as the massive support of England players, players feeling good and enjoying playing for England. They'd do a hell of a lot better that's for sure.
Once I saw a smidgen of it, Euro 96 and England did very well, losing to a very good German team.
And for God sake I wish the media would stop attacking every country who gets the rights to host a tournament, who isn't them. Not one has went by when they haven't poured negativity on the host nation.

You ever thought of becoming a professional comedian?
You should, you know, you're really funny.
And those jokes, do you write them yourself, you could write sitcoms.
