why not splash out in a position that we need.

That's probably because the staff and Kenny think we need to be stronger in midfield - I'd agree.
i think we need wingers and defenders.

"Anyone else get the feeling we are signing the wrong players"
No.
Gerrard is OLD and always injured!
Aquilani could leave
Poulsen will be sold
Shelvey is still young
Spearing is good but not class
You should trust Kenny's decision..
I think we need 6-7 players really so I'm not worried that we've bought a centre mid unless we go out and buy another 2. He can play on the right as well.
Do you think there's a slight possibility that we may buy some more players before the transfer window closes?
Just a thought....
henderson is a long term replacement for gerrard i think but i agree that if we sign both henderson and adam, that would be ridiculas. left back and left winger are needed and phil jones would be nice
henderson - £20million
enrique - £10million
jones - £16million
a.johnson - £15million
not too much to ask is it?
Not really.
Aquilani doesn't want to come back and I suspect Dalglish doesn't want him back.
Gerrard's body is rebelling more and more frequently and he can no longer be relied upon to be up to playing 50 games a season.
Henderson is, probably, overpriced at £20m but he's generally viewed, along with Wiltshire, as the future of England's midfield .
If he lives up to his billing (and I do worry a little about his heavy 1st touch) it'll be great business.
If he turns out to be another Carrick, well, so be it.
As for wingers, we may or may not be in the market for Marveaux, Young, Gervinho, Downing, Mata... the list is endless, or it could be that Dalglish wants to play without wingers and rather have Kuyt and Suarez buzzing around Carroll.
I think it's a good signing.
If Gerrard is played as a SS then we only have Raul and Lucas of quality and neither are true ball winners. Henderson has a great engine and will get his foot in.
At the end of the day is he better at football than Spearing? Yes, in truth, he is and as such the squad has been strengthened. This can only be a good thing.
N'zogbia is a must buy in my eyes. prem proven, natural width, young, pacey, can beat players, great crosser
IF Mata would come to us, he is also a must buy.
i know this is a Liverpool post, but as an evertonian i'm jealous of the way there spending, and theyre getting quality players, omg they are going to just streak that league next year, and there is us blues being left behind as usual, i hate kenwright, then again its not all his fault, we have always been in Liverpool's shadows

Stop pretending to be an Everton fan you douche, it's pathetic. Most Everton fans I know have got a lot more self-respect than that, even if they are bitter clowns.
