Dana will no doubt protect his irish chump by postponing the fight instead of putting him in with fighter that will maul him, namely edgar and mendes.
Mendes was exhausted.
If you look back through McGregors career you will see his shots never really look that convincing. Somehow he gets them shots in and they rock whoever stands in front of him.
Have no doubt, them words are as strong as his clout.
Max Holloway straight up tells you why Mendes lost that fight. He has a little more sense than some of the Mcgregor haters in this post.

Conor will never do enough to silence a lot of his haters, they continually try to find a way to take away the credit he's due.
He beat the guy that everyone has been saying would be his hardest match up.
And Conor beat him while dealing with more pressure than any fighter in the octagon has ever faced.
Conor clearly has a injury which is badly effecting his movement, he won even with his worst performance of his career.

you weren't at the fight

Me?
No mate, Tika who said he went to the event.
He didn't.
I must have missed that post.

It is extremely disrespectful for Aldo to pull out over a bruised rib and even tried to fake it saying it was broken. Terrible champion. Mendes was most probably gassed from Conor's kicks, he kicks very hard. Don't blame it on not having a full camp, Mendes said before the fight he always stays in shape and is constantly training. He even said he'd rather a shorter camp so he didn't get any injuries.
And no, I weren't in Conor's corner but I was there, even had a chat with a few people backstage too. Faber told me that he was going to coach against Conor on TUF before it was officially announced. We go way back.
No you weren't.
You post on twitter constantly. Not 1 photo or tweet from the event.
No need to lie to a bunch of strangers. It's just weird.
Guv, you most certainly are trying to take away from Conor, the Conor's knee being injured rumour has been floating around since before Aldo even got his rib injured.
It apparently happened while rolling with Rory during the world tour.
I actually thought it was very apparent during the fight, Conon did not move at all like he usually did.
Mendes is a super fit athlete who trains all year round, yet you think he gasses in 2 minutes coz it was short notice?
He gassed due to Conor's body shots, simple as that.
Don't bother Sjb, Guv doesn't know what he's talking about. Only started watching UFC a few months ago.

Mendes: "I don't stop training. This is training year-round. This is our job. So, I felt ready. I've been training, I've been hitting it hard," said Mendes. "I got the call three weeks out. At that point, it's just fine-tuning, getting that weight down. I don't get too far from my fight weight — 15 to 20 pounds max, you know?"

Thoughts on the card and fights?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought it was an amazing card. Had everything, and certainly lived up to the hype.
Stephens, Brown & Almeida all looked beast.
Lawler Vs Rory...just WOW. What a fight, like Dana said...could be the fight of...ever!!!
Rory was looking great, the new Lawler is a real beast...like, an absolute monster.
Expected more from Mendes, his wrestling was obviously causing Conor problems but he kept getting up and finished Mendes pretty well.
McGregor is so accurate with his strikes, I think a culmination of the shots Mendes took and the short camp, and the pressure from CM is what took it out of him...not 1 particular thing gassed him, but the combination of the whole thing...the magnitude of the fight, the crowd.
Conor took the whole thing in his stride, came out and pretty much did what he said.
I think he gets hit too much, but he says the FW's power doesn't worry him, and it looked exactly like that!
Apart from a fully fit Aldo, I don't see too much trouble for McGregor in that division...even Edgar (who gets hurt a lot) would struggle in my opinion...would be a great fight but my opinion has changed since Saturday and I'd expect CM to tko him inside 3 rounds.
Still think he has a long way to go to prove the hype...but he's going the right way about it I suppose.

Conor is just on a different level to these bums. Those hard body shots took the wind out of Mendes. He couldn't handle it. Once McGregor connects they fall, just like Aldo will.

Mendes post fight:
"I was pretty damn tired honestly at the end of that round," Mendes said. "But I took that fight on short notice. That's the risk I was taking. I would absolutely love to get back in there again with a full training camp and try there. Hopefully, we can make that happen one day."
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Winners win and losers make excuses.
Some of us follow what's being said by the people involved.such as me and obviously not a plastic like Guv. Buchholz said 2 weeks ago that Chad had been training for Conor for 3 weeks at that point. He also stated that Mendes doesn't do more than 6 week fight camps.

Hard to move well with a fighter laying on you.

Wow. Sjb come on mate. Behave.
How can a body shot gas a athlete like mendes for two rounds. Whether or not mcgregor hit him mendes was not physically able to go 5. He said himself post fight that the two weeks notice killed him. He didn't even mention conor gassing him with a body shot.
Why do you think mendes tried to go for the sub? He knew he couldn't go 5. He didn't have the tank for it.
A body shot will hurt you but a athlete like mendes would not be gassed for 2 rounds by it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well for one it was a hell of a lot more than one body shot, he attacked the body time and time again, and i'm not sure if you've ever been winded but it's extremely debilitating.
I have only been properly winded once in my life, I though I was gonna die, just couldn't catch my breath at all, how physically fit I was at the time would have no bearing on that situation.
Mendes hates Conor, he ain't gonna give him props if he can help it, and it also helps his status if people believe he only lost coz he had a short camp so I was not surprised when he used that excuse.
