He was never the same player after his long injury lay off, but one of the best defenders around in his prime. Remains to be seen if he can rediscover that form or not.

Also there were rumours of a falling out with one of the coaches last season, which is believable as his performances were very inconsistent and lacking focus before being discarded altogether.

Wish him the best. Still remember his equaliser against Villa and the winner against the the other lot at the library.

Such a shame he could not recover after his injury!

Great lad and could have been an immense player.

Had a great spell when he came back for the 2nd time after maturing at Portsmouth. As others have mentioned his injuries have taken a toll and apart from a couple of outstanding games he was generally poor and usually made at least one mistake per game.

That's a few more quid in the kitty, in my opinion we just need to offload Stambouli (seems to be close), Lennon, Chiriches and Soldado. Wish we could get ride of Adebayor but he wont leave, he will bleed us dry for one more season.

A few loans out for some of our promising kids and regarding incomings hopefully we will get another three in -

CM, RWF and CF

Hopefully we make the right signings (ideally with experience) and I believe we would have had a successful transfer window and our squad should be well balanced.

Capoue 7
Kaboul 4
Total: 24.6

If Stambouli goes that should be 10m - 11m net spend or profit.

If we can get about 22m combined for Soldado, Lennon and Chiriches that's 30 odd mil to put towards three shiny new signings.

If Tom Carroll and Andros get sold too it could generate another £20million. It would be sad to see both go but I cannot see their futures at Spurs.

But then are we not doing the exact thing we all said was the problem from the Gareth Bale money; signing too many players at once?

This seems to have gone amiss when people are saying what other signings they want us to make.

Posters are saying:

Striker
Winger
Central midfielder

If we do make these signings that's 6 new signings AGAIN with a mass clear out the other way.

This club is just too active in EVERY transfer window to ever have any kind of stability in my opinion.

This stems from sacking managers continuously, bringing a new guy in who then wants to build his own team.

Not quite the same as last time.

Only 1 or 2 of our current signings are first teamers with most just adding competition.

If we sign a new cm he'd probably go into the first team however a new winger and forward would have to come in and play really well if they are to get into the team.

Last time there were 7 players expected to get into the first 11...

The big difference between now and 2013 is that we signed seven players from abroad with zero PL experience.

The good two took time to settle, the jury is out on one and two were proper flops, and the other two were completely unsuited to English football.

So far we have signed three players. Two of which were PL regulars last season, and the other will not be starting immediately barring an injury disaster.

This is why I'd avoid frivolous replacements such as people calling for Townsend to go. That's a decision for next Summer. We know what we are getting there, and letting our only pace go is a huge gamble.

Priority positions first. Central mid. Two strikers.

PL experience if possible
