I agree

If we are going to sell then we should just say what the asking price and then let Chelsea decide what they want to do and ignore the silly media games as we need to get on with building the first team squad - defence especially

I hope Stone's head isn't turned by Mega Wages on offer

Think it might have a little to do with playing alongside JT and GC, having the chance of winning titles and playing at the top level of European football

You're probably right - they just need to put a serious bid in now

Just out of interest, when people are complaining of the outrageous sums of money young English players are going at, what would be a serious bid??

Surely we've built up some good will after giving you the privilege of paying £28million for Lukaku

Bamford is gone to Palace for a season and Ake is rumoured to be wanted by Leicester, Newcastle, Watfrord, Stuttgart and Borussia Monchengladbach. Would be nice for him to get some proper game time in the Premier League.

Don't think there would be too much disappointment if Moses was included.

Sure you can have Atsu again....

I thought the Sterling transfer conclusively proved that talented young English players are only interested in money?

The abuse that Sterling has got in unfair IMO, he may have went about the wrong way/badly advised etc, but the fact is that he is now at a club that can offer him a real chance of winning titles on a regular basis, and at the same time, become filthy rich, who wouldnt turn that down in his position??

Completely agree.

And why on earth was he being booed yesterday??

Likely that there were some Liverpool fans in the crowd, as much as we like to admit it or not, and as much as City are now better on the field, Liverpool are a massive club worldwide, not quite on Utds level, but a level above Chelsea, Arsenal and City.

I would say anything over £30 million - you're talking about a future England captain, the best player we've had since Rooney but as I keep saying if they want to buy him they have to pay what Everton want for him

25m plus Juan Cuadrado.

And you can have Aiden McGeady for free

Anyone? Please...

We won't be selling this window, that's why we haven't put a price on him, he's categorically not for sale

Only thing that'll change this stance is a transfer request at which point we will rinse Chelsea (or another club) for in excess of £30m (Barnsley will get 10-15% remember)

I think we'll keep him this window but can see home going next summer when his price is even higher and his replacements in Galloway, Browning and even Pennington will be able to fill his position for free

I hope you're right

Also Atsu and Moses are crap so I can't see them being effective make weights in any proposed deal

The fact that Chelsea are getting Gary Cahill to go to the media to try and convince him shows that the initial bidding has failed and they're trying to force a transfer request from Stones

If that happens Kenwright (although much maligned by many evertonians) certainly won't let him go cheap as recent evidence with Fellaini and Lescott has shown

What about £26m plus Remy?

posted on 22/7/15

No chance we should take anything below £30m, plus Remy has huge wages, imo we'll get close to £35m this summer (if we sell) and will be nudging £40m next summer if a bidding war ensues (which it might)

Nice of Gary Cahill to add his thoughts on this - they really are something else arent they Chelsea

Saw this in twitter
-----------------------
Step 1: Bid £20m.
Step 2: Insult Martinez
Step 3: Belittle Everton
Step 4: Wheel out... Gary Cahill

This hasn't been thought through...

Hope Bobby holds firm on this and think he will especially with Chelsea's behaviour.

If they match the Sterling Fee then he is gone. Prefer to keep him but silly money wins.

Anything from stones on this yet?

You can't sell a player who doesn't want to leave Everton. Just an hour or so from his mum and dads for the home boy at Barnsley or in London?

We won't get anything like £49m for him. Does anyone know if Barnsley get a slice?

posted on 22/7/15

10-15% is the figure banded about. An why can't we hold out for £49m? The value is to the club including player value.

He is priceless and would cost £20m minimum to replace with a lesser player. So why sell him for anything less

posted on 22/7/15

Generally strikers cost more than defenders.

posted on 22/7/15

Ferdinand cost more than Rooney

Although I do partly agree alas, we probably won't get £49m for him, can see it being as high as £40m next summer though especially if a bidding war ensues
