Right back: not desperate. Sherwood seems to like Hutton as RB and Bacuna in midfield, and in pre-season they've been combining very well. We need cover, but if Hutton gets injured then Bacuna can drop back or Donacien can come in. Or even Richards move over.

Centre back: again not desperate. We have Richards and Clark, Baker as backup, and maybe Donacien. One more might be good but we don't want too many bench-warmers. Maybe there's another youngster coming through.

Left back: not desperate. Amavi looks the real deal, but we need backup. Could be Bennet, Cissokho and or Richardson. Down to Sherwood really.

Midfield: need another. At the moment we have Sanchez, Gueye, Bacuna, Grealish, Gil, Cole and Westwood (plus N'zogbia and Herd but I think they may be going). That's thin; if Sherwood plays a single striker and Gil or Grealish in the hole then he needs 4 others and there's little cover. If Sanchez is DM then there's only Gueye in the Delph mould and I think we need another dynamic tough tackling attacking midfielder; we've been that bit too weak in midfield.

Striker: get Adebayor if possible, for a start. If Benteke had stayed we'd have been great, and we need somebody who can provide a force now. Ade can do it, and I don't care if it's only a short term thing. We need another as well. Maybe Sherwood will decide Kozak can do it but more likely not. Rolan seems right; strikes me more as a Kane type of striker. There's Austin but I'll go with what Sherwood thinks on that. Sellars looks good (3 goals in two days can't be bad) but a bit early to throw him in.

Andy - Young? Last season I would have take him like a shot. I think he's a terrific player, one I respect because he's dedicated himself to being as good as he can for as long as he can.

The only reason I don't jump for him this season is that we've signed Sinclair who plays a very similar sort of role. So getting him would leave things a bit unbalanced. And if we did get him I'd be happier if we had a striker who could he could obviously work with; I thought he, Downing and Bent together were a class act.

If he did come I'd welcome him. I think MU would be totally stupid to let him go. He's a player who'll never let you down.
