Another title that I would say i didnt really get just a franchise i have never really bought into ... When i played them i didnt think they were poor or that just never got the fizz goin is all, simlarly with Uncharted. If the days had more hours in the day im sure i would get round to them but til they invent the 40 hr day then im screwed !
HAHAHAH
Well i was a Tomb Raider baby and played them all as a teen and loved them. Then the reboot and quite frankly for me was game of the year. Perfect balance between interesting, challenging and just being fun. Was able to play through it pretty quickly. For me fulls into the same category as Wolfenstein - fun 10 hourish story that you prob wont play again.
Was it before the xone release? I thought it was sometime later, like much later.
Anyhow, this announcement caused much hoo haa, as the initial announcement was as ambiguous as you could get with MS muddying the waters so it was hard to get a clear picture, which caused a lot of argument among gamers.
It was obvious to me from the way it was announced that it was a timed exclusive and said as much, so this comes as no surprise to me.
As for a good or bad thing, MS needed something to combat Uncharted and have said as much, unfortunately a timed exclusive was never going to be enough to challenge Uncharted and to me only highlights how weak MS games lineup is.
Still to each their own.
Just did some checking, the Tomb Raider announcement was made almost a year after the xone was Launched.
Either way I don't think anyone is shocked to find it's only a timed exclusive.
yeah ?? i thought there was more to it that .... saying that when i was younger i tended to get stuck now and then on the puzzles... the reboots are far less puzzle like i heard tho is that true?
It was a strange one amiga, as we had the announcement, then we had an M$ "clarification" that pretty much said it was timed, then a sort of retraction of this statement, then people saying it would be on PC but not PS4 etc etc etc All in all pretty funny.
And Amiga tad harsh on M$ having a weak line up. Halo blows every FPS PS exclusive out of the water, GoW is also up there with pretty good exclusives and is prob the best in that genre of games, though 4 so far doesnt look that good - very badly designed e3 demo there. End of 2015 M$ games are prob stronger than PS, but we cant forgot the excellent 1st 6 months and Bloodborne etc etc etc. And also the amazing 3rd party line up.

Yeh the new ones are straight out the uncharted action/adventure with small platforming and stealth parts. The 1st ones were more action puzzlers, but this is to do with the market and in general the move away from slower games on console.
I think you summed it up pretty well Simon, and the MS lineup of games, Halo, Gears, just more of the same and to be honest they are starting to show their age.
Oh i agree, but Halo 5 and warzone looks like a game changer, one a little too late for lots, but i was tempted to start looking at bundles and also to play the Masterchief collection, then decided i could wait a little bit longer, and certainly has me more interested than GoW. There have been some good interviews with 343 on a few sites and its got me interested again in Halo a bit more.
To be fair I am not the greatest FPS fan so I leave other people to judge their quality, but to Halo has been milked to death and even fans of the series are looking for something new.
Still I'm not the target audience so I dont really care.
Problem is Amiga the whole FPS genre has been milked to death so in reality there isnt that much choice. And out of what is available arguable Halo is the best, certainly the best campaign, and Warzone is sounding super fun, and im a person who had no interest in Halo MP before. Thanksfully sony has done the right thing, dumped the average Killzone and just bought into the slightly less average CoD, it will certainly shift the numbers at least, and in return we get Horizon so all good in my books.
I actually really enjoyed killzone although the PS4 game was a bit meh, I loved the campaign of 2 and 3 although 2 was the best and a real challenge on the hardest difficulty. I dont really enjoy the online although I must say one of my Favourite games of last gen was Warhawk which was an online only game
Never got into Tomb Raider.
loved tomb raider, only reason i keep my old ps2 now is to play them again, Still hate Werner Von Croy
Love Tomb Raider games. One of the 1st games I started playing on the PS2.
