Clearly jealous of their six packs. Or a repressed homosexual.

Stupid comment really. Loads of footballers have six packs and take selfies. Don't think that would influence your passion or desire to win trophies at all. He's probably a bit out of touch with modern culture. I'm not into the whole selfie stuff, but I don't think it would influence much. He Sounds a bit Petty or like a Noel Gallagher of football.

He's right.

Just how modern footballers are and people like Keane find it hard to accept. Not that I like it but you're better accepting and try to work with it, even ferguson saw that and adapted to how modern players are to a degree.

But saying that Arsenal have plenty to prove and for me a couple FA cup wins hasn't installed any winning mentality. Having to compete week after week and being mentally strong to handle that pressure is something most arsenal players simply haven't dealt with yet. Not to say they can but I'm not convinced they can just yet.

I get the point he's trying to make. But the same is true for all footballers. They all take selfies, have haircuts and have good bodies. His generation would have behaved the exact same, and still won the trophies in the same circumstances.

He's dead right ! Everytime you pick up a paper you see Wilshere and his chums with no shirt on posing for group selfies. They lack the dedication and bottle to win the league. Keane is the perfectionist who certainly doesn't generally like players that crave the limelight. Ronaldo the obvious exception as he loves him

It's hard to say whether it makes any difference or not.

Sanchez is the Arsenal player who posts the most pictures of his well-sculpted physique, but he's also a serial champion.

Ok let me rephrase my comment. Keane is akin to female genitalia. better?

He's right -- but it's not just Arsenal.

Yeah but Arsenal love their own self publicity. The way the celebrate coming 4th and now 3rd is well OTT.
Still they play pretty football

Iron Tulip is so full of bull it is laughable.
Don't think I have ever picked up a paper and seen Arsenal players selfies. Maybe stop picking up the Daily Sport...
As for 'celebrating third', do you just make things up on the spot or what?

posted on 2/8/15

They are always tweeting selfies, especially in the changing rooms !
Well as you usually go ballistic when you finished fourth and celebrate like you have won the league,CL and WC
it was logical to assume that by finishing a place higher you would be even more OTT !!!

Oh, now twitter is considered a newspaper?
It would be logical if the situation was anything like any example of the players going 'ballistic'. The fact you have absolutely no comprehension of the enormous pressure to get 4th place, and how the odds were massively stacked against us, leaves you to make such silly statements.

The odds weren't stacked against you. You just had a season when we were useless, Spurs as usual shot themselves in the foot. It's not silly it's true, all the pundits commentated at the time as to why Arsenal were celebrating like they did. Expectations were that low I guess. Is 3rd Arsenal's new expectation then? You only celebrate when you win things and that's the point.

Absolutely spot on.

Need a manager who will kick the soft poncy feckers up the arris and get back to winning titles.

Arsenal need a CF and possibly a CB
United need similar (and probably another keeper!)
Chelsea need a CB possibly
City need a CB and maybe a forward

So there is a dearth of quality CBs it seems..

oh forgot Lpool need a miracle !

Keane is spot on, too many soft fairies in our team. Less time putting on make up for selfies and more time manning up would be useful.

The team is built in the managers likeness. Weak and spineless.

What on earth are you talking about? We didn't celebrate 3rd. We had a small outpouring of relief when we beat Spurs to 4th a few years by the skin of our teeth after being 17 points behind , and when we repeated a similar thing a couple of years after.

Yeah I guess, like Liverpool of '96, they do have a certain Spice Boys image going about them.

What's the girl band on the scenes nowadays?

I would hedge a bet most of the English Arsenal players are what us "oooop North" would call Southern Fairies.
