AU, you don't seem too happy with LvG. Swap for Pérez?
This De Gea transfer is such a shambles.
What's deadline day without a bit of controversy.
what a crazy night
that 2 of the biggest football clubs in the world can muck up a transfer like that is beyond belief tbh

We weren't really interested in De Gea either until Pérez met DDG's mum on the tube on his way to the office yesterday morning and she mentioned that Dave thought Manchester was uglier than the back of a fridge.

I think I know what went on.
De Gea, who's always been Atlético through and through, heard about Madrid's potential interest and came up with a cunning plan.
He decided to feign interest and run down his contract, negotiating conditions and getting Madrid to commit to paying him a handsome sum if the deal didn't eventually go through.
He explained all of this to United, who played along with the elaborate hoax and made sure Madrid were unable to file the deal on time.
He'll now take Madrid's money, sign an extension with United, declare his unflailing love for Atlético and laugh a tidy €10M all the way to the bank.
We signed two players from La Liga this summer.... Crespo and Adama. Crespo been injured so hasn't played. Adama however
Understudy!
Reading back, I saw you briefly logged on while I was away on hols, so didn't get the chance to say hello.
How's life treating you, I hope you intend to spend a bit of time with us this season.
Adama I can only imagine has a buyback clause, can't see Barça letting one of their most promising prospects go just like that.
Taking refuge in here away from the warzone that is the Arsenal board. Wenger will be the cause of WW3 mark my words
Well he is kind of Germanish...
Ioag how are you? I'm grand, usual work/play/football lifestyle.
Yeah he has a buyback clause.....although the fact the coaches at Barça don't rate him as highly as Samper etc is the reason he was sold to us! He could be a world beater though, already scored 2 goals for us in 2 games although 1 was credited as an o.g.... He's a frightening player. Heavily built and incredibly fast. Can't wait to see more of him
I'm hoping to be around on here more at the minute too
Hey renoog! Wenger's unbelievable, just when he seems to have got most of the fans back onside...
US, good to hear mate. I was surprised because he had been talked about quite a bit as one for the future...
Perhaps selling instead of loaning makes the new club more willing to make the player an integral part of their plans. Doubt a few odd million make much of a difference to Barça, and in exchange they might be able to buy back a player with that much more experience.
renoog and understudy
would be funny if de gea now signed a new contract with man utd....this fiasco has really made a fool of uncle flo
IOAG I was never back on his side OK maybe just a little bit I genuinely thought after January that he'd change his ways and discover the pragmatism needed to win stuff, but wasn't long before he reverted back to his usual complacency
peks
Look at it this way, there's a chance you can now get de Gea on a free next summer, and you'll get another year out of Keylor who I think like Ospina is actually a very good keeper being overshadowed by bigger names. He'll certainly come in handy in those big European games when Benitez parks the bus and your keeper will get called into action more.
Peks
Ioag I'm hoping he's ignored by Barça as he already has been this season, and their buyback is only valid for 3 years.... If he's with us then/signs a new contract then hopefully I'd bigger fish come calling we can either sell him for megabucks or tell em to hang it and keep one of the genuinely most exciting players I've seen play in the Premier League.
US, would you say he's the most exciting Villa player sinnce Barry Bannan?
renoog, yeah, a lot of people forget Navas was chosen best keeper in La Liga the year Courtois won the league with Atleti. Disputable decision maybe, but it shows he can be right up there, imo.
On Arsenal, it just seems like you're in store of another season of the same. You must be so bored of it.

Adama isn't THAT exciting Bannan has gone to Sheffield Wednesday I think now... what a wasted talent.
One of the things I wonder about Keylor Navas is whether his final season at Levante was just a one off.
It's not like he has previous. He's not actually played that much for a keeper his age. Of course it could just be a case of late blooming.
Hope you stick with him and De Gea decides to stay with us. Unlikely, I know.
