It's not really any different to nowadays. Bear in mind it was an 18-team league - i.e. 34 matches - and 2 points a win.

Using today's scoring system, Valencia would've averaged exactly 1 point per game, i.e. 34 points from 34 games - equivalent to 38 points in a 20-team league.

Oh thanks, I knew I was missing something! When I started watching footie in the mid 90s, it was always 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw

Not been on since the defeat to the Scousers. Fair play to them, they did well.

It's only the third-time a Spanish side has lost to a non-Spanish side in a knock-out tie in 48 games or so.

However, in spite of some poor form towards the end of this season we have finished in the top-four and got all the way to the semi-finals! Great season in my book and if we can make it to the Group Stages we can hopefully add some even better players!

I wonder how open Utd would be to selling Mata. I think he'd be open to the move although the lack of CL football could be a problem

Don't think you can afford to buy Gomez tbh although he has had a poor season considering his potential. The Andre Gomez we saw at the Mestalla against Madrid, that's the one we should have seen throughout the season

Mendes might throw his teddies out so there is a good chance we might lose his clients though so there is that factor too.

School kids ffs

All sounds nice though, I've read a couple of times the stadium is a bit run down. It is weird to see all the WC1990 stadiums already looking so old. That was just 26 years ago.
