sad thing any team who doesn't qf for the cl places just won't bother in Europe from the English league, the revenue to stay in the league is 100x more worthwhile than a long Europa campaign then getting relegated, other European leagues don't have anywhere near the money incentive to stay in the top flight so generally will fair better in the Europa league
EL will get you a CL spot. So why not make an effort.
Attract a better quality of player and move forward, to say it's not worthwhile is stupid and shortsighted.
It's stupid if teams like West Ham are saying they'd rather concentrate on the league. Highest they'll finish is 6th/7th at a push. It's not really that much of an achievement in the long run. Many fans would rather finish bottom half and win Europa.
If you want to finished 6th/7th but don't want to take Europe seriously. You may as well not bother that much in the league either and finish 14th each year.
I hope Liverpool take the EL more seriously this season than the 2 domestic cups tbh
West Ham going out this early is bad for the coefficient too, could lose 4th place champions league spot if other prem teams also underperform
I'm glad we never qualified through the fair play league,we've got a shīt load of injuries just by playing friendlies,we'd be decimated had we started as early as the Hammers.
If they qualified through the league positions then they wouldn't have failed at the qualifying stage

I agree - West Ham are a joke - nice shiny new stadium (paid for by the taxpayer) and they cant even beat some nothing team from Romania - they were nearly knocked out the round before against the Maltese side - embarrassing
