Update on Dann and Jerome

Would be bad news if Jerome were to go.

We have to be careful about who we get rid of and why. Loaning Foster out now is starting to look like bad business - what price 10 points at the end of the season? The same goes for Jerome I know he isn't perfect but he can bring a lot to us, for £3 million this is poor value to us.

Have to agree Blackrose... I am not convinced that the club actually needs to sell anymore players... or even needed to sell all of those who have gone already.

Company owners are always pleading poverty, I remember in 2009/2010 when we were made to work short time because of the recession... only my level and below, not company executives... I lost upwards of 15000 quid in take home pay... but in parallel share values were rising, profits rising and exceutive vacancies being created and filled... mainly in the commercial areas but no overtime or travel allowance for minions like me, no pay rise etc...

So I assume all business men are the same, a 25% shareholder has his assets frozen... big deal, that means 75% of our shareholders still have their assets available to use.

I think we are the victims of business strategy, if the company can find a way to put one over on you they will... economic recession or frozen assets of a minority share holder... the excuse is always the same.

Rant over !

We have to remember that those 71-75% shareholders are silent backers they seem to not have no interest in investing in the club.

When a number of fans had shares in the club under Sully and Gold when we was BCFC PLC and not BIH, those fans had no say or was expected to invest, like people who had shares in Cadbury they did not have to invest in the company they simply held shares as a Investment.

Carson Yeung is the only active share holder, if he was not then why did he have borrow us money by raising cash from his own property in China.

When Yeung was arrested how come no other investors gave any money to the club, the club ran purely on income at that time that was Season Tickets and Player Sales hence cheap player sales.

We did have about a month ago investment from a outside investor but this is a £6.2M loan to the club that can be turned into shares in 2 years time. And we also got our first installment of Parachute money.

As much as we would like to keep players i still think we will look to service more of the debts we carry, but i agree surely how much has been cut off the wage bill, surely whats been made now since, then surely we dont have to sell every one from Ridgewell, Dann, Jerome and Zigic to ballance the books.

But alas we just dont know how bad the situation is we dont know how much Yeung wants us to sell off.

I do feel that we would accept offers for players, but its a case of will the players agree the moves, dont forget we agreed a fee with with Stoke for Dann and Jerome.

Would Dann see QPR or Wolves (as some rumours apear) as a step up from Stoke, or Jerome that Fulham and again QPR are a step up from Stoke.

If Dann wants bigger than Stoke then he would not move to QPR unless they pay him the £35K a week wages he wanted from Stoke and unless QPR can show they are aiming to be a Top 10 club ASP!

Zigic i feel we could see loaned out and still have to pay about £25K of his wages.

Blackburn are apparently in pole position to sign Dann now, if this source is to be believed

Cant see anyone pay £8 million for a player who aint played for 12 months , newspapers have always dreamed up unreal prices for players .

posted on 30/8/11

Xpat the same happened to me ,years of short tlme and a pay rise about every 4 years , while them in suits and the office staff stayed on full time . kro.

I wont hold anything against Dann or Jerome if they leave as it doesnt look like they're pushing to get out (Gardner)and arent just looking for an easy ticket back to the PL (RJ).

Dann had one and a half good seasons with us. I'd love him to stay but he is too good for the championship.

Jerome hasnt really made a great impact with blues, apart from the 09/10 season, but then again we havent exactly played to his strengths. I think he could have a great season with us if he stayed but we may never know.

Well it will be interesting to see what happens on Blackburn forums some claim its £5-6M we have accepted.

Thats a disgrace, £8M i think we should settle for with a sell on fee and if feel thats cheap. Jagielka and Cahill are rated at £15-20M each i think Dann is as good as those pair.

£5m would be a joke and would send out a very strong message. Who wants to join a crisis club? I'm hoping its just a rubbish rumour but I'm actually a bit worried by this.

How can they even consider 5mill for Dann??? i'd want at least 9 with a sell on clause - so much for Pannu being a 'tough' negotiator. So long as we hold onto ridge.jerome and carr we should be ok.

posted on 30/8/11

Thats just what some Blackburn fans have commented, others saying fee is about £9M mark.

Who knows if its a fee of £5M with addons, as we ahd agreed £6M+ addons with Stoke that was a £10M deal, maybe we dropped asking price by £1M

I would sell Dann for cheap as chips like £5-6M if we have a massive 33% sell on clause and a £2M addon if Dann Agrees new deal with club.

So say buying club sign him for 4 years and they extend his contract or offer him improved one it would trigger another payment.

As i do think who ever gets Dann if they are not a Top 6 club i do think in 2-3 seasons Dann will go on and be sold for £15M+

What we have to remember is Coventry have a 15% sell on fee and then i am sure they would not sell Turner for less than £2M

9m would be fine. £9m plus add ons and I'd actually be happy. Dann was signed pre-Yeung so who knows if we've even paid the full price for him yet.

posted on 30/8/11

I think we only paid about £5-6M for Dann and Johnson in £9M deals.

I think Dann was £2.5M + £1M worth of installments and £500K addons.

With relegation we may thus only have to owe £1.25M on him to Coventry (if not already paid) plus a sell on fee so if we got £9M Coventry would get £1.35M sell on fee and £1-1.25M owed on original deal.

Would be good for us if its £9M cash but no real benefit if its lower fee with addons for example £5M as it would mean we only take £3M on him. Maybe more because i am not sure how % sell on fee works with deals that are lower fee + addons.

We will have to wait and see but it does look like the bigger guns inc Villa do not seem interested in Dann.

So its QPR and Blackburn and i would expect Bolton or Stoke to be interested if they lose Cahill/Shawcross

With regards to Jerome it does seem that Fulham are the club in for him, Stoke seem to be looking elsewhere and Bolton not firmly bidding like Fulham have.

We need defedners and so £3M + Baird could be something we could do with.

As for replacement well Ranger could now be sold to Blackpool for £500K as Newcastle have had enough of him.

Will we hijack any bid..... not unless we sell Dann and Jerome as i think we are SKINT

Only way we would replace Dann would be if Turner would cost less than £2M provided Dann makes £8M+

I just dont think we have money to spend and most money made will yet again go

Thus we could have to look at loans or even Kuqi on a free

Update.....

Just checked and Stoke could be in for Jerome still in a £3.75M deal as they will not be getting Crouch. But they are also looking at a few more Strikers so i guess Jerome is one of Pulis's irons in the fire.

Nile ranger has rejected the move to Blackpool but says he still wants first team football I.E he still wants to leave. Hopefully the Hughton tie to Newcastle will be the deciding factor as I think Jerome will be going.

There's only two days of squeaky brum time regarding outgoings!

Feel sick!

posted on 30/8/11

I dont really want Ranger just to make up the numbers. Maybe he could work in our system but I doubt it.

If we had to sell Dann then I'd like us to get Turner in and have some money left over for another CM signing.

If Jerome goes to Fulham what about a swap deal with AJ? He's being linked with a move this window and I'd love to see him back. Unlikely but its an idea.

posted on 30/8/11

Very much doubt AJ would even consider us at the moment.
Lower division, lower wages, just isn't going to happen. Shame though!
We will miss CJ if he goes because i am sure in the right team he would mix it up a bit and get results.
Stoke is probably best option for him.

We haven't spent any money so far this summer, why is it now going to change when the man in charge of player transfer (Petter Pannu) is not even in the country and is not back until after the window closes?

Ben Turner will cost money, so that won't happen.
Nile Ranger will cost money, so that won't happen.

Lets stop loking at players coming in and just hope that we hold on to the players we have, as no money will be going out, that's for sure.
