Great business at £4m which is now being reported. Probably includes add one. Excellent player for us over the years...a real top championship forward.

Florida, is there anything you would like to say? I know you were a big fan!!

I'll second that. Nuge will always be fondly remembered as being a vital part of our most successful period in a very long time.

Here's wishing him as much success at Boro as he enjoyed here.

I'm sad to see him go, although also accepting that he'd struggle to get a game for us this season under Ranieri. £4m, if correct, is a sizeable amount for someone in the last year of his contract, but the going rate for strikers in the Championship at the moment is very high and he did score 20 goals in our promotion season. His wiliness could see them good this year and they have to be favourites for promotion.

I hope he's successful there, and that they have a fixture against one of Burnley, Ipswich or Derby very soon so he can get off the mark quickly.

Seconded to all that but I'd add he wasn't too shabby for us last season either.

Interesting that Karanka described it as 'not a crazy amount of money to bring him here'.

Wow he would only been a supersub this season. Thank you and goof luck you where frustrating at times but never gave less than 100% and played with a smile

Genuinly sad to see Nuge go, he was one of my favourites and has been an excellent player for us over the years. Realistically he probably would not have made the starting XI too much this year.
Having said that, the reported fee is great business for a player of his age. Although if Rhodes is worth £15m and Ross Mccormack £11, maybe Boro have got themselves a bargain?
Good luck at your new club Nuge!

Does that mean Balotelli's on his way to us?

posted on 14/8/15

Only if he's got lost on his way home from training.

Accidentally pressed for 'boro, I don't think any of their fans will respond to this being on their board.

He'd have to go to training first Dunge 😉

TB, if the Scousers are right then maybe yeah.

I echo what everyone else has said about Nuge, my favourite goal would have to be at Anfield, I had the perfect view of it flying in, what a strike, what a feeling and what a fantastic servant for our club he's been. I will miss him and I'm sure the players will too.

Thanks for everything and good luck, hopefully see you next season 👍

When its compared to the 15 million Blackburn want for Rhodes he's right

"Does that mean Balotelli's on his way to us?"

According to various 'gossip columns' Balotelli is sitting it out at Anfield so that he gets a six figure 'loyalty bonus' if he's still there at the end of this transfer window.

As the old saying goes, there's one born every minute...

Chesham- I was thinking more along the lines of do 2nd tier managers now not regard £4 million as big business or was it closer to £2 million like suggested by some sources

Good luck Nuge, sorry to see you go.

One of my favourite players since he arrived and has scored some cracking goals for us.

My 5 year old daughter will be gutted, she even named one of her teddies Nugent when she was 2 😄

Oh bless HGF!

My favourite footballing story of the week.

This is the kind of fan commitment you are leaving behind Nuge. Good luck up North.

Prawn, I'm sure that his positive attitude and no small amount of goals will see him loved up there.

I really hope that he leads Boro in at the KP in the Prem next season so we can show our true appreciation of his efforts while he was with us.

Here's hoping he doesn't wave as we go past !

Yep, very sorry to see Nuge go, he's been first class for us, right from the start.

I hope he's going because he wants more football, not because he was squeezed out. We don't yet know where our goals will come from (as opposed to where they should come from, you understand). I'd have hung on to him a bit longer.

Hey TB, I had you down as one of our more positive contributors, I'm sure we'll be ok 👍🏻

Agree, MFR - would have been a super player to wheel out in the cups, and probably a good influence in the dressing room too....

I echo the sentiments on this thread. Has been a top player do us but probably a good time for us to part ways and for him to find a new challenge.

I hope he succeeds and think he will.

Malling - I understand he was told he wasn't needed, his wife made a comment on twitter about it, I agree that maybe a bit more time may have been sensible.

Hallgreen - I am positive and think we'll be fine but Sod's law says he helps Boro get promoted and we get relegated.

I know Nuge has his detractors, but I remember getting excited about his guess who's back tweet

I wish him well..... Good luck Nuge!

Nuge on the bench today for Boro against Bolton - obviously asked to wear no 35!

Best of luck with your new club and thanks for your valuable contribution.
