henry said he'll listen to the fans.
majority want stanley park.
Henry is fudging the issue and the fans come out with pearls like "he's an astute business man" and "his plans are way better than h+g's".....what plans?
John H has asked the following question, in so many words: "we have a stadium of 45,000. Everyone wants one with a capacity of 60,000. Are we expected to pay £300M for 15,000 extra capacity?" Its not an easy question to answer, is it? Answers please m.gummidge, JimmyTheRed

Just wondering if anyone knows about the stadium situation. A few weeks back i read that the club were supposed to make a decision before the end of September on whether or not they would build a new stadium on Stanley park, however nothing has been mentioned so far. Any news?

Just out of interest, what month is it?
Where does £300m come from?
Portugal managed to build 6 new stadims for the euro's for £750m.
W.g I am quoting John directly. Actually, I thought the price was on the low side, bearing in mind the cost of the Emirates. While our costs would be less, I would say that £300M would be a minimum. JimmyTheRed
Stadium of light: £23m
Cost of extra stand £7m
Total £30m for a 48k capacity.
Now i know your'e talking minimum 60k capacity but £300m sounds ridiculous.
Wembley cost a fair bit more but need not have.
I'm only quoting the owner w.g, please don't shoot me JimmyTheRed

Are you kidding me? Don't tell me you don't know what inflation is. 300 is the average cost of a proper 60k stadium. You only have to look at the cost of wembley and emirates and these were before the recession.

I'd rather see us expand Anfield to 60,000 but Henry says the red tape involved in doing that would keep us in limbo for years. I also understand that if Anfield was to be made 60,000 capacity then there would be no possibility to expand further. Its a difficult one for sure, and I think they are doing the correct thing in taking their time over the decision.
