All the commentators creaming themselves over Bournemouth were way over the mark. They are a rank average team. They carried almost no goal threat and were like Lallana in team form. Flattering to deceive.
They just had a better method and work ethic. Which as a Liverpool fan who remembers that we were built in method and work ethic I find infuriating.
A wins a win but we have some huge games coming up and we look there for the taking for team like Arsenal to be honest.

I assume the Lallana bashing is due to his price tag.
I thought he had a better second half personally and became more influential.
I'm not sure they're fit yet.
ibe off the bench works for me
we still have Firminho to get starting XI fit and Studge to come back.
reality is that what we've had so far isn't near a best XI in attack.
which makes these 6 points so important. We won with only half the 'front 4' fit.
I assume the Lallana bashing is due to his price tag.
-----
No need to assume. It's because he's awful he's being bashed. He's not worth a place in the team on his current performances.

We were very lucky with both the goal and the disallowed goal.
However they only really created some half chances and we can be happy that we look a little more solid defensively.
I thought Bentake played well tonight. held up the ball well and linked effectively at times. It's a refreshing change to have an effective option up front with Sturridge out
Ibe was poor. He's still very raw and looked more effective last season moving forward from a deeper position (wing back). Lallana flatters to deceive. Coutinho was dangerous, but left his shooting boots at home today.
We need to be better against Arsenal. Henderson will be a big miss as Can didn't impress after coming off the bench.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with that.
Thought we were ok, not impressive but nowhere near as bad as this thread would lead you to believe!
Impressed with Milner and Clyne - both seem to have a real no-nonsense approach to the game. Clyne was a constant outlet at RB as well.
Benteke looked good in parts, certainly encouraging.
Lallana had his moments but at both ends of the spectrum. Thought he was better today than last week though.
Didn't happen for Ibe tonight as all. Think he needs to be an impact sub for the time being.

Well sorry but that's bollox. Ibe was the worst player on the pitch. Can had a very poor cameo. Lallana didn't pull up any trees but he certainly wasn't 'awful' and never has been.
moreno put a smile on my face
my motm even with limited minutes
he closed out the match almost on his own
Ibe was off the boil for sure. Lallana didn't over much going forward but I think he really helped defensively ... Even if it was to get really tight and stop them passing and moving
I maintain that this 4231 we are employing is wrong for too many players.
def and keeper are unaffected
milner and hendo are more effective wen given license to get forward by having a dm behind them in a 433. this of course means that coutinho moves to fw3 on the left. so he wud be less effective but our balance is more enhanced.
personally I wud go 4 diamond2 or 433
I wud lose lallana and ibe for arsenal game

benteke
i dont like both hendo and milner playing deep/dm-esque roles
too limiting
Solid though innit.
Get Sturridge and Firmino going - that's the key.

Henderson sat and was quite effective in my opinion but Milner was all over the pitch. There were plenty of time when he supported attacks and closed down the opposition from an attacking midfielder position.
I think Milner has the license to roam a little bit more but he has the discipline to know when he needs to drop back in. Thought he played well tonight.

4 years and 1 month until what?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I retire at 55.
Poor performance indeed. Getting overrun in the midfield.
Back 4 were not bad. Milner was good. Benteke much more involved than last time. But it just didn't look too good at all.
Too early to say the sky is falling though
the hendo/milner combo could work well longer term
it just doesnt look good yet to me
early doors
Hope so TKT. Was noticeable how different we looked when hendo went off. Would like to see Can take the bull by the horns when he gets that chance. Like Moreno. You could see how much he wanted it when he came on

He's only going to get better with a run in the team. You'd be an awful manager, making eight changes every game and using all your subs up in the first 10 mins.
Can's problem when he plays in midfield is that he is too keen on playing the ball out when instead at times he should be clearing it and a few times he has gave the ball away in dangerous positions because of it.

Nicked a couple of wins just like your east lancs neighbours, take it move on and improve because United and Liverpool must on there respective efforts so far.

He was 4/10 last season and he's 4/10 this season, not much to discuss.

He didn't get a run in the team last season due to injuries. That's why I said he needs a run, until then you won't see his true form. That's the way it works with some players.
