United should be playing a 4-1-2-3/4-1-4-1 with Herrera as the more advanced midfielder in a 2 in front of Carrick/Schweinsteiger with Hernandez up front.

With the above setup this game would have been very comfortable.

Mata Hernandez Memphis

Should be the current first-team IMO.

Overall pretty happy with this. Memphis may have to go back in the FF team...

With a midfield of Carrick/Schweinsteiger behind Schneiderlin and Herrera, United would have ripped Brugge to pieces.

Front 3 of Mata, Hernandez and Memphis would have rendered a return leg pointless IMO.

I think I get why we play more rigid as well, when we play more freely we look like we have big mistakes in us.
