Fairly certain we will be bet...
i would love a statement of proper intent from rodgers down that we mean business..
heres bloody hoping...
As i said though, I dont believe arsenal are at it yet and im never convinced by mert and kos at the back, pretty confident benteke can do some damage.
Gomez at LB may be an issue, being so young and probably up against pace in ox or Walcott...wait and see on that. Arsenal have decent options up top but can be slow in mf and at the back, hope its a good game.
it's a free shot
we're supposed to lose so we can only gain points here
If we pull off a win here then anythings possible but am expecting a loss
Would take a point now if offered
We've played 3-5-2 the last two league trips to Arsenal in the league and been beaten well on both occasions. Obviously 4-3-3 is much more likely this time round but you'd still have to be optimistic to think we will get anything given our record there.
A free shot? relegation strugglers mentality that is, Liverpool have started 2 wins from 2 and arsenal prob lucky to have 3points , why wouldn't you be confident of least a point
We aren't fortunate enough to have the luxury of Arsenal rolling over for us every season like United have, Kaz.
We struggle with the quick nippy attacking movement by their attacking midfielders. Milner and Can/or Henderson will be key to protect the defence. Sorted and Lovren should be able to deal with Giroud but it's the players behind him that is the issue.
I'm sure we will try and play on the counter attack and be direct up to Benteke but I can see him being isolated if the midfield is too deep. It's all about the balance of the team which I think we have now with fullbacks who can actually defend and a proper no.9.
United....my thoughts exactly, a free shot!!! Thats not who we are, no matter who we play or where. Facts are 2 out of 2 and no goals conceded should breed confidence, we have a much better more balanced team. No saying we will win, but a free shot...no, not having that; cant have that with the likes of milner, benteke and coutinho in our team.
we don't have our best player, have a shiite record away at arsenal, still trying to settle too many new players, Hendo's probably out, we''re not playing well, and Arsenal have a tonne of quality attacking players even if they haven't quite settled yet this season.
it's a free shot
Neo, I get that but still strange mentality to me, and I'm sure you've beaten arsenal in the league at theirs since they've last beaten us at OT
Kaiser...what about what we do have??
kaz it doesn't matter what the 'mentality' of people on messageboards think. You thought you had a chance against us when we had Suarez and what did that 'mentality' get you? Deserved, repeated, complete humiliation. Same when you thought you could beat Barca in CL Finals.
I'll just take it for what it is. We have a chance at 1 or 3 points. Anything can happen in football.
Posting I think we should get 1-3 pts when it's as rubbish as when you thought you could beat us at our peak is just asking for a banter beating by stating something I don't think is true. Why do that? To show some bizarre messageboard arrogance that won't effect the result one bit? pfffffft
Kaiser...cmon, u really think before a ball is kicked we are doomed to lose??
of course not, we have a chance. we've got good players.
a point would be 1 gained, not 2 lost is all.
Arsenal will be favourites for the game and rightly so; they're a very good side, not really bedding in new players and they're at home.
However, they're not at their fluent best yet it seems and West Ham gave a pretty effective demonstration on how to beat them - compete strong in midfield, don't give the attackers a second on the ball and hit them on the break.
If we're compact and high energy then there's no reason we can't get a result of some description. One things for sure though, we'll need to take our chances when they come. No Benteke misses from 4 yards!
I wouldn't bet on us but I wouldn't rule it out either.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah they beat us at the Emirates in 11-12, but that's their only win away to Arsenal in all competitions since the year 2000.
Arsenal have beaten United at Old Trafford 4 times in that period.
Tbh....we should take a leaf out of utds book. They normally defend well and hit on the counter, arsenal always tend to fall for that vs them.
We could have benteke as the spearhead and pace either side of him in ibe and coutinho.
At your peak? What are you on about, since when did a single fans mentality have anything to do with a result ever? And yeah I'm sure us going into a cl final thinking we would win was a bizarre thought for a fan to have

Didn't United beat Liverpool a bunch of times during Suarez's time there?
I think they beat Liverpool 4 times (3 PL, 1 LC) during that time.

Kaiser...what about what we do have??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What we do have is a young, inexperienced, much changed team who, while having plenty of potential and the ability to look really good, are, realistically, the 5th best team in the country, behind the two Manchester and London clubs.
Dressing it up as what it isn't only causes some of the fans on here to lose their minds at a bad result.
We did, but a lot of what he said didn't make sense, anyway for what it's worth think it will be 1-1
If u thini about, benteke vs mert and kos...I fancy that. He will bully them for sure. If we can get couts and whoever in support quickly then we could profit.
Inexperienced? Only gomez who is likely to play is inexperienced. Milner, clyne, benteke...inexperienced? ? Really?
We are certainly not inexperienced, maybe young yes.
