it's funny how they react, we all have fans who go OTT with a poor result but Arsenal on here have the best meltdowns. I saw lots of comments last night that Wenger should go at the end of the season, not quite WENGER OUT but getting there

Its going to be very competitive this season there will be points dropped from everyone of the top 5, I wouldn't write yourselves off just yet.

Fan A wants Wenger out. Fan B wants him to stay.

Rival fans : "Look at how fickle they are!!"

Arsenal fans are literally the opposite of fickle. Sit in their little In/Out camps and refuse to budge an inch.

I don't Wenger sacked. Never have done. But I don't want him to renew when his contract runs out at the end of 16/17 season. If he does I'll still support him but I hope he doesn't

3 games in is what makes me think it's funny. Especially after all the hype when you beat Chelsea in the charity sheild.

But lots of fans make good pints re same mistakes etc and it is up to them if they want a new manager or not.

One class CF and one very good CB is probably all that is needed.

I think they got a away with it last night with the two young CB's, in the first half any way.

The game could have been over first half, or would have been against a more potent strike force.

When Liverpool assumed they'd won the league 2 years ago, my friend and colleague who supports them after they beat us 3-2 asked me how I felt after us 'throwing the title' I just shrugged and said maybe we'll win it maybe next year, or the year after. I've waited long enough and my patience can still stand equal along side my expectations. Can others say the same??

Just a top cb and a top striker? Make it sound easy.

We need same and haven't managed it. Not an abundance of top class st's or cb's on the market.

I do get it from an Arsenal fans perspective to be honest. I think the majority of them can see what's missing and has been for a while, but it isn't being addressed. There seems to be a false new dawn every season for them.

That's not to say that this year they won't be challenging, just that the two positions that they have always struggled with are still missing and that's a striker and a leader in the middle. The latter in particular, I don't think they have ever replaced Vieira.

The other thing to mention is that there's a real lack of width at times due to how many players they've got that like to operate centrally, or at least move inside. It works in some games as it packs the midfield, but it needs everyone on song to get the passes moving and opening up the defence.

It must be frustrating as it looks as though Wenger will never fully address those issues. At the same time, he's a key reason as to why they have grown into the club they are, with the stadium and continued CL qualification. It's not going to change unless he makes the decision to leave, so it must feel a bit like just waiting for that to happen for a lot of fans.

If you think of that and the cost of going to see them nowadays since the move to the stadium, I'm not surprised some are disgruntled and voice concerns. Their board hasn't done enough from a commercial perspective to lessen the load on the ticket prices and either them or the manager has been reluctant until recently to put the money into the key positions in the squad.

They'll be up there, they always will be. Until Wenger makes the decision to leave though, it's hard to see them as anything else but perennial bridesmaids.

To be fair your lot has just let the top class forward although not an out and out striker slip through the net.

Is the official party line.

Truth is probably that he thought Chelsea was a better fit for him.

Its very very rare for a CB top or not to slip right into a system esp if they are used to a different league. Mangala has taken 12 months, MDM took 8 months, Nasty took 12 months then didn't fit into the new system. Also they get all the scrutiny. If a forward misses 3 out of 4 chances but scores on the 4th then that's an acceptable ratio. If a CB makes 10 good tackles and then misreads a situation leading to a goal then he's pillored and has the whole crowd home and away on his back.
CB's have to be nurtured into a system and the likes of Terry and Kompany and indeed Ferdinand in his prime are few and far between
