maybe W Brom should buy Austin then...

I've been advocating that for weeks.

No wonder Levy has put a block on Fazio`s move to WBA, what with Peace trying to act all barney big bollox over the Berahino deal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Fazio move fell through because Albion couldn't agree personal terms with him after he'd passed his medical. Nothing to do with Levy.

Boring I know Ginge but it is interesting that 3rd party add-ons for purchased players was £15m. It doesn't break it down but it does support the notion that we didn't pay quite as much for some players as the headlines suggested. The section dryly signs off by saying Spurs didn't expect to have to pay any 3rd parties out! No surprise there then.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Tottenham are probably the only club in the world that leak artificially inflated player purchase prices to the press. Which is to say, it's in the interests of Daniel Levy for the fans to THINK we're splashing the cash, whereas when you look at our accounts this is clearly not the case.
Soldado is a great case in point. Cost 26million according to the press. Tottenham could've had a little word off the record to correct the press, but it suited ENIC that the fans thought 'wow - we've just spent 26million on a striker - he must be great!'. In reality we spent around 12million on him, with the rest based on the never-never (e.g. 100 appearances, 50 goals blah blah blah). We're also rather good at paying in installments, which is why you'll sometimes see fairly large FX gains on the Balance Sheet year-on-year.
I think a few fans need to wake up around this financial prudence thing. Yes we need to save for the stadium (about 10 years and counting since that all started), but we've already provisioned for the stadium. We made around 25million profit last year, before the new TV deal comes in. We're fackin loaded.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I see that we posted the highest ever p/t profit of a Brit footy club last time out. Now if only there were a cup for that!

Yeah right, if you believe that
Dunno why but I think the deal has been done. The posturing is PR.
Can't believe we have't seen the #FreeSaido hashtag yet.
God I hated that with Luka.

I do think it's now at the point where we won't bid again. I think we'll move on.
Of all the players mentioned on this thread, I'd go for someone like Loic Remy. Cheap, wants out. He'd give us a good option and we could have another go at Berahino in January (when he'd only have 1.5 years left on his contract)
Btw. Thauvin at Newcastle looks a good buy ...
