One of the crown jewels gone! Our second top scorer from last season is off, our top scorer is injured, our sharpshooter is crocked 4 the season and our current top scorer (joint) is used as a sub......Stinks!

Im sure its Gradel who is looking for more money than we can offer, if he didnt want to leave why is HE in advance talks, yes LEEDS will take the money if he's made it clear HE wants to leave.

it will give NUNEZ our top scorer a chance to play.

madness as some of us have been saying for ages it's not about whether he wants to stay, it's about whether Bates wants him to stay.

As per usual, the club makes no effort to retain players it no longer wants.

I have been a voice of moderation in recent weeks, urging fans to suspend judgement, but this is a terrible development (if it transpires).
I cannot understand what is happening. Being 12,000 miles away does not make it any clearer.
The decision to sell Gradel, on top of Grayson's inability to address our defensive concerns, an apparent lack of a plan B when plan A takes a nosedive, on top of some bizarre team choices, on top of awarding captaincy to the player with least leadership quality, all seem to suggest we are moving backwards as a team and as a club.
What must the players be thinking when the club makes no effort to value them, or to bring in competition for places? If they lack grit on the field, what's going on in the dressing room?
It is terrible to see the talent we have being squandered and filtered away into offshore accounts.
The players deserve better and we, the fans, deserve better. It is impossible to find any inspiration or grounds for hope in the actions of Bates and Grayson at the moment. As a Leeds fan of more than forty years, this is the bitterest pill to swallow - the enemy is not the FA or the referees or the opposition - it is within.

9322, I think the distance is a big problem.

Many fans so far aaway can't see or feel at first hand what is going on and tend to feel that everything will be fine etc.

That just isn't how it feels when you;re at matches or in the city.

How do we know what's been offered to Max. the problem we have is we wont pay players stupid money, ie we wont be held to ransom. our best players know their good so they want to play at a higher level and for more money.

People forget that the UEFA fair pay rule come into effect next year. anyway we havnt sold him yet , lets wait and see, how many time have we had this discussion this summer only for him to remain with us.

Dont forget Max's agent will be the one touting Max around not Leeds, Max could always say no to any transfer and pledge his future to Leeds, but we all know he and his agent want a lot more money.

Are you saying you don't believe Max then when he says he's not been offered a contract by Leeds?

Dont forget Max's agent will be the one touting Max around not Leeds,

----------------------
Remember it was Grayson who dropped top scorer Nunez for Gradel saying it was an opportunity for Gradel 'to shine' = put in shop window for TV game.

Jonty If Max's agent has made stupid demands, which we know most agent do, because the more the players get the more they get. did we not pay £750.000 plus in agents fees last year.

If Max has said he want to go of course Leeds are going to put him in the shop window. the problem is none of us know what is going on so we speculate.

Becciho signed a new deal because he wanted to play for LEEDS, not money

madness, on one hand you say that we don't know what Gradel has been offered on teh other hand you say we 'know' agents are greedy.

You can't have it both ways.

We paid 750k in agents fees because we had 19 players come through the doors last season and sent a number out on loans too.

That is not the Agents fault it is Leeds fault for the sheer volume of activity.

Please show me a comments where Max has said he wants to go and I'll show you plenty of public comments where he says he wants to stay.

Madness, if you read Bates programme notes re Becchio transfer he made a very strange comment.

he said something like 'it's always good to have them by the short and curlies, this is the situation Becchio found himself and consequently he then signed pretty quickly'

I think it was in the QPR or Boro programme last season.

There is more than meets the eye with that one.

All agent are greedy, and yes we dont know what the situation with Max is, no player is going to say he want to leave the club, that way the club alway's look to be the bad guys,

yes we all saw the comment in the program and yes he probably was referring to Becciho.

of course Max want to stay but were not offering him £25.000 a week, before you jump on me its tongue in cheek, it will be about money, as i right this an article has just poped up on the news now website saying Newcastle are in advanced talks for Max.

Lets wait and see what happens i think Bates would rather let him go on a free at the end of the season, but what do i know

no player is going to say he want to leave the club
--------------------
Didn't Beckford hand in a transfer request?

Didn't Bates tell us that Delph asked to leave?

Remember Kevin Nicholls saying he wanted to leave?

Happens all the time, but when a player says they want to stay I don;t know about you, but I tend to believe them.

yes we all saw the comment in the program and yes he probably was referring to Becciho.
---------------------
Of course it was about Becchio, it mentioned him by name

Beckford had already sorted out his move to everton when he stuck in the transfer request.

As far a Becciho im just happy he signed, dont care how it was done, remember it was in the program, wasnt sure if he name him, but i bow to you on that one.

I think Delph was on his way anyway his was the last thing in the cupboard with any value.

We all speculate but none of us know the whole truth, my take on football players is there is no such thing as loyalty, its about money and who will pay them the most, the more they make the more the players agent makes, i will always come down on the clubs side

What???

If he had made a deal with Everton, why did he ask to go on the transfer lists and it was Newcastle who bid for him?

i will always come down on the clubs side
---------------------
And that is exactly what Bates banks on in being able to shaft the fans.
