Well it depends what you mean. He obviously has higher ambitions than what Everton do. Doesn't mean he has no belief in their project.
If, for example, their project is to establish themselves in the Europa and have a stab at the top four - like the clubs I mentioned - then it's not exactly something that would be that hard to get on board with.
The fact he'd obviously rather be playing for a club like Chelsea is a different matter altogether.
How much would he actually be playing for Chelsea though ?
We are involved in a lot of competition, I reckon he could still play between 20-30 games this season for us.
He will probably be playing regular football from next season !!

Well that'st the thing, Everton have no hope in hell making that top 4 ! Nothing wrong with having ambition, but, you just have to be realistic about your chances.
The other thing is their league form suffered because of their participation in Europa.
Everton haven't won any major trophies for the past 20 years, and that won't change anytime soon.
Well that'st the thing, Everton have no hope in hell making that top 4 ! **
Sorry my old son but you're being a bit sour about this now - it is unlikely we will finish the top 4 but saying we have no hope is ridiculous, now Stones is staying we could go on to have a very good season
Great statement from Kenwright yesterday aswell, lets hope he sticks to it, the tabloids this morning are already trying to stir it up again
I hope do get to keep him too, just to see, how this will work out for you
Well Chelsea have wasted time in getting other defensive targets in while they chased a player who they were told was not for sale.
Peter Reid believes Everton are making a mistake in hanging on to John Stones.
Stones has been told he will not be sold this summer after he handed in a transfer request in an attempt to force through a move to Premier League champions Chelsea.
But former Goodison midfielder Reid feels that it may be better all-round if the Toffees allow the 21-year-old to go.
Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, he said: “If footballers are not happy they do not play their best football.
“I always think footballers are in control of the situation. I am delighted Everton have said no, but does he want to play for Everton? No.”
Asked what he would do if he was in charge, he added: “You get him out.
“I’m not saying he is a bad apple. But if you are at a club and you are not happy, you have to go. I say that with a heavy heart.”

Who cares......Chelsea were told he wasn't for sale....
So essentially we want to end up in a situation where every club in the premier league, bar the four with money, are feeder clubs for those four clubs. You can try and build a team but as soon as you have a stand out player or a promising talent he must be sold to one of those four as soon as they ask. Contracts are to mean absolutely nothing. Football now only exists as competition for those four clubs and the rest of you are to have no lofty ideals at all......
Can't say I like where football is heading nowadays if this is the case.
This is funny.......
I am sur ethat Stones will continue to perform to his high level....otherwise he will have no chance of his big move/england caps so Reid is talking nads!
he grew up a Liverpool fans so I expect nothing less from him!

We're already practically there and have been for awhile. It's a shame really, though I benefit. A lot of people are migrating down the leagues for a more 'authentic' experience.
Awwww didums, is lickle Cescpit upset and thrown his dollies out of the pram because Roamey can't get him Stones?
Ahhhhhh bless his little cotton socks.
I didn't say Everton will get top four. And I pointed out their form suffered in Europa because of having a crap squad.
Not really sure what your point is, to be honest. All I've said is that I don't think their board is naive enough to think they'll be a cl team any time soon. But they have other valid reasons for hanging onto their players.
Not that big a stretch to come to that conclusion.
He has a contract of employment, not sure many slaves have one of those?
'Everton will pay for this in the long run' Enlighten us please ???
This still going on the Chelsea fans need to let this one go now tbh alot of respect for Peter Reid but as it stands it would make more sense to keep him, he will get over it within a week or two and we move forward...

No one has said every club should be a 'feeder' for the top 4 rich clubs, the issue is that the player put his transfer request, if he didn't do this or wanted to stay then there would not be an issue.
Yes he did sign the 5 year contract with Everton, it doesn't mean he can't have a 180 degree change of heart.
You know if chelsea kept a player who requested to leave we would be called a classless club. This term should apply to Everton now

No you'd be called a classless club because Terry plays for you and Mourinho is your manager.
Two legend of the game Darren that United were never able to lure. It's ok though you have true gents in Rooney and Johnny the spitter Evans.
