Long enough to prepare for the game
Could have took lessons from West Hams performance at Arsenal
Very disappointing display
Got to turn it around

Losing 3-0 at home to West Ham is a massive shock. On to Old Trafford now, would be nice to bounce back there.

Just seen that Cout sending off again, tragic decision. The bloke has stepped back onto him.

Pathetic but is it really unexpected.

No and that's the problem. We get regularly comfortably ragdolled and beat by mid and lower table clubs even at Anfield.

If Rodgers tries to gloss this as being unlucky then he's lost the plot. This is nothing short of embarrassing. What good is doing well in thone tough games and then spanking it at home against West ham?! Such a weak losers mentality.

that's because Rodgers is a weak man

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Indeed, and plainly incapable of the high standards of leadership and game strategy that would be reasonable to expect of the incumbent.

Does anyone think this could be a worse result than the Stoke one from last season?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you serious?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well let's look at it in context.

Stoke result was last game of the season with nothing to play for, against a place where we always struggle away.

Today, after a good start that we have to keep going before going to Old Trafford after the international break and we lose to a team who've not won here in 50 years or whatever it was and where a player from their team hasn't scored in 9 years.

----

Was going to respond but you've done it perfectly.

Don't understand why Insert Random was surprised at my statement.

This is a catastrophic result.

It is becoming increasingly clear he can't get a team with equal attack and defence balance. This could be a long season.

I stay by this, if Lovren starts against United I will be in the Brendan out camp.

What I liked about him most was the fact that he reacted to mistakes and chopped and changed things that weren't working, so he needs to keep doing that.

That was the greatest difference between Rodgers and Kenny and what frustrated me so much about Kenny who just kept up the same thing game after game.

First loss of the season is catastrophic...

lets all just throw the towel in and declare on these points shall we?

season over, if we cant be invincibles there's just no point trying

I answered your question about the Stoke result and you've ignored it. Let's see what you have to say there, Insert.

Beat Utd and no one will care.

Can we at least give ten games though please.

Stoke we lost 5-1 after a run of poor form,

we needed for the sake of morale to finish on a high and it was the worst performance player for player i have ever seen from a liverpool team.

Not one player tried..

Today we have lost the first game this season, following two fortunate wins and a good draw at arsenal, it was a shock defeat, and we were undone by two individual errors and conceeded a third at the death while throwing everything at trying to claw back a draw.

You get shock results in football, its why its entertaining, if it was a walk in the park for the top/home team every game there would be little point following football.

the stoke game was far worse because no players gave a sh*t and even trying to close it up they waltzed through our defence,

the majority of the players tried today, the tactics were wrong, the subs were wrong and there were two crucial errors that cost us the game. not to mention a poor poor refereeing display.

The two results are not comparable and the over-reaction to the first loss of the season is bizarre.

as i said, if we cant be invincibles, whats the point of trying ?!?!?

can the article title be updated please? to show the true record? thank you

I think it's more the manner of the defeat Insert.

When the lineup came out I said it wouldn't work, and then we didn't change it for far too long after we conceded, sitting on our hands a little.

3-0 home defeat against West Ham is a bitterly disappointing result though, especially with United away next and the ludicrously timed international break in between. But good for you for being able to see some positives in that game.

The problem is that it's not the single loss - we all know very well that Liverpool didn't deserve to win against Stoke and Bournemouth.

And they played one good half against Arsenal.

That's 45 minutes of good football out of 360 mins.

The stretch goes back further if you want to look at the back end of last season with defeats to Palace and Stoke.

Really really poor

i cant see positives in that game,

thats short termist, if you expect every game to go brilliantly you will always be upset.

you need to look at the season, and we are sat on decent points, having had a decent start, while a lot of players are needing to settle in.

you can look at our lack of goal threat back to the start of last season and point out thats worrying, i would agree..

but to call the 1st loss of the season "catastrophic" when we have been undone by a couple of calamities is ridiculous

My opinion is that brendan needs to take the brakes off, and drop his new solidity at all costs mantra.

but one loss does not destroy a season, neither will a loss to united.
