I think the 'cheap option' has to be put into context.

From what I can tell Cellino will spend big but it has to be the right player. He was happy to spend £3m on Wood because he felt it was justified. It was confirmed by local media close to the club that the club felt that Forestieri was a 'safe' option and that Limbombe was a risky option, hence why I'd assume Cellino may have pulled out over a £2.5m price tag, if that was the issue that broke the deal.

First player since Viduka to be able to knock defenders out the way and win the ball, with a load of confidence, he's looking like an excellent purchase.

No relegation but let's be honest and injury to Taylor would be terrible on the left as literally nobody so far has had his number in the league. No cook for long periods isn't good either.

Agree and being released of captain duties to sol I can only imagine has helped him concentrate on his job.

Sol will make a few errors but in general at this level he's a good as you'll get on his day.

Going back to Botaka, from the short clips in the YT vid, he seems to be another player who is comfortable on the ball. This seems to be a common feature of our players right now - they don't treat the ball as a 'hot potato' and get rid as soon as they can - most of our players are happy keeping the ball and getting past a player or two.

It's nice to have a team for once which is skilful on the ball.

It's amazing how when some folk are found out, or backed into a corner they come out with the line that they were joking...!
