Dier was excellent yesterday, his tackling was hard and immaculate, he reminded of Graham Roberts when he first came into the team. Big, big future for Dier, and fortunately he goes completely under the radar.

He wasn't all that.

He did well at breaking up attacks but lost his cool far to many times for my liking and his distribution wasn't very good.

Wouldn't want him there all season

Would be foolish to expect a young CB to be a short, medium and long-term solution to the problem, but Levy will probably be happy with what he saw and order Poch to use what he's got.

We wont be getting Wanyama after Koeman`s comments today, so either there is somebody else up Poch`s sleeve or Dier has been shoe`d in for a DM role this season.

a couple of OTT tackles but he looked good and seems to have improved quite a bit since he left us

i am assuming that money has been put aside to bring in a DM…. but if Dier is actually going to become a DM rather than a CB, then perhaps we could use that money to strengthen other areas… (of course Poch has to be confident that Dier will reach the level of ability and consistency required for that role)

if Dier is gonna turn into a very good DM then thats a huge bonus for us… out of nowhere really !

Ledley's knee surgeon: Football Manager legend - M.S.N = Quadruple 15

You obviously did not watch the same match as the rest of us. He was immense yesterday. I think you will find that most supporters that did actually watch the game, gave him Man of the Match. You obviously did not watch the whole game.

Just because I don't agree with you it doesn't automatically watch the whole game. People are allowed to have different opinions believe it or not. Saying that, I did nod off for approx 20 mins or so.

I personally thought mason had a good game also....great movement/late runs and but for a very decent save from Howard wlda got himself a goal.....

And that really was the main bug bear....missed chances.

Oh and still 2 brain fart moments....walker poor touch....lloris poor kick.....clda left us in teouble.

lloris' distribution is awful though.

and i don't rate walker at all, so no point in me even going into that.

trippier and rose would be fullbacks if it were up to me

He looked up for it yesterday, maybe alot had to do with him facing us, being one of his former clubs.

No malice in his tackle on Cleverley, I just hope the scans show the injury is not as bad as we fear, but knowing our luck it'll be a season long injury.

Dier played very well versus Everton. Looked to be the midfield enforcer that Spurs have always needed.
Yes Mason had a good game too, as did Rose, except Rose teneded to get well out of position and at one time was playing right wing.
Walker had a 50-50 game.
Only player who did disappoint was Kane, and really wasn't his fault. We do need a second striker to take attention away from Kane. When he did break free, he broadcast wot he intended and gave the GK a gift. A bit of anxiety me thought. And Kane played good defense when needed. He's not lacking for effort.

Dier was our MOTM by a good country mile. He worked hard, his positioning was first rate and his tackles we great. He made Bentaleb look extremely poor and also baled him out more than once.

His distribution was not fantastic but it was better than we have seen from both Bentaleb and Mason this season and considering his age and the fact that its a new position for him he was superb. Anotehr major point in his favour was that you could clearly see how much it meant to him which is not always the case from some of our extremely casual midfield players. That will to win is a major asset IMO.

He has played what 4 games in that position now and there is no doubt in my mind that if we show patience and give him a bit of time to adjust to things he will make a better defensive midfield player than anybody we have at Spurs at the moment but he will need 15 or 20 games to adapt properly.

Were we to sign the likes of Wanyama (sp) I would play him alongside Dier before I picked Mason or Bentaleb for absolutely sure.
