How can anybody be serious about challenging for the league by signing only a goalkeeper?
Progress has been slow but we have improved every year since we stopped having to sell players. I really hope we sign another option for DM though.

Didn't improve last season.
You only need to read some of the comments here to understand why Wenger is comfortable sitting on a pile of cash rather than spending it on quality players.
He knows some Arsenal fans are happy to win the moral argument about spending.
If no one else is signed then so be it but when it goes wrong and it will he must take responsibility for once. Player acquisition is part of his job and for the most part he has consistently failed over the last 6 or 7 years. Anyone doing a profession who consistently fails at it will get the sack he should be no different. Fed up of hearing how hard him and his team are working its about getting results and if we don't see results he has to go.
The two teams that finished above Arsenal strengthened. The champions saw fit to bring in Pedro despite being champions.
City came second and have bought some good quality reinforcements.
We came third and bought a goalkeeper.
Should've signed a world class keeper 10 years ago. But least we have now eh. Should've got a DM 7 years ago. But we got one now. So wait another 5 years for a striker
Just imagine if he didn't luck out with Coquelin. Don't care what anyone says but he was on his way out until the massive injury crisis forced Wenger to recall him.

Thing is we can spend £100m and still win the moral argument because it's money the club has generated rather than sugar daddy money. The fans who aren't livid with another failed summer are just deluded muppets.
I am still expecting him to pull something off..if he doesn't then...I really do not know what to say anymore.
He lost the plot years ago and should have stepped down especially after selling the rapist to United that was the last straw for me.
Of course we improved last year. We added Sanchez and got thumped by no one.
Wenger has held us back for years.
I don't know if he's incompetent or arrogant, but it's BS like this that really limits what we can achieve in a season. Everyone can see that we need a striker, just sign a fricking striker.

Lol just listen to yourself.
I lost all respect for him the day he handed the rapist to Utd on a silver platter and I hope he gets what's coming to him.

Well done, so you've basically just admitted you hope Wenger fails, and therefore Arsenal. I understand why you'd want him out but hoping he fails? You're a joke, get outta here.

How do you know for certain that we'd fail without Wenger? Sometimes i get the feeling that he's actually holding us back.

Haven't said that, I was commenting on him hoping Wenger fails. I want Wenger to leave but as long as he's here I'm not going to hope he fails, I want to see him succeed again however unlikely that is. Right now if Wenger fails then so have Arsenal.

The only thing Wenger is likely to pull off is Giroud. I can see no other reason why he would play him evey week.
P.S. I filter GT for his Giroud loving crap but he is the only other one who loves Giroud as mch as Wenger seems to.
If a player is available that he believes is better than what he has then he will buy and is not afraid to spend mega money. Ozil was 2nd most expensive signing at the time, even more than city had ever spent. He says he only buys if if they are a special player during every transfer window
It's embarrassing how obsessed the average fan has become with signing any player. The whole stupid yellow tie and redknapp out the window sky not nonsense, its become like a soap opera.
I really want us to sign a world class or top class player but understand if one isn't available then it's stupid to buy for the sake of buying. Getting our strikers and attacking players back in form is most likely more important than any signing we could make
Its clear we are waiting for movement from the other big clubs to open windows for us. The way wenger comes across makes it clear he knows we need more to get closer to the other teams. Depends completely on availability though

Available = offered to us. Well that's not going to happen every summer so Wenger might have to consider buying players other clubs want.
