What's new then Wolfgang.

Maybe if we had, we'd have got more for Stearman, seeing how he would have been a "Premier League" player.

It's only been 3 years since you were in the top flight though, hasn't it?

You know the best way for younger players to develop at a club?

To learn of those with more experience.

Who exactly is the experienced head in our defensive unit now?

Nobody.

I see Sunny is revelling in all this. I think the last couple of times I've seen him this happy was when MM had just been sacked and when SS had just been appointed.

Knows a good decision when he sees one does our WummyInTheSunshineState

Oh well at least all this has meant Sunny hasn't given us his usual countdown of Wolves fans who are taking part in KoP. Weird that after every round of games he's given a rundown if who is where in the table but hasn't this week.

I wonder why that could be?

I don't see the world collapsing around our feet just because a defender has been sold.

One of the things I like about our club, is the fact the all age groups are trying at least to play the same style of football and by doing that, then they are developing well and can fit into any higher group when called upon.

It's always nice to have an experienced head around the place and we still have a few, but the club are focussing on our younger players making the grade and I for one am all for it.

We have as much chance as any of the other clubs in the Championship to go up and I believe we've started slowly because of ALL the hype about the uncertainty of many of our squad.

Hopefully come the deadline, KJ can pull everyone together and we move on.

so we sell our best LW and bring in a young RB who "can play" RW...genius

sell our best defender for £1m...don't feckin quote plus add-ons as Sunny said he's shiite so lets be honest, targets won't be hit so it'll be just the £1m.....who is available better than he at £1m or less?

and well we're already light up-top and now we lose a striker for the season....2 anarf hours to go in the window...some people need to earn their pay

Wolfie, the club have stated we are going for promotion.

We currently have two centerbacks, with about 50 games between them.

I don't care how much potential they have, to be in this situation is feckin ridiculous and if by the end of today that hasn't changed then Kennys(?) decision can only be classed as a feckin mistake.

posted on 1/9/15

c'mon please, sunny may have a point.
instead of the tried and tested way of deciding promotion ie highest finishing position perhaps we should go the way of ice dancing and have technical merit ie league position and artistic representation - decided by a panel of judges on whether your football style and player quality is good enough
obviously wolfie would be on that panel

I cannot believe the arsewater Sunny spouts and I find it even more difficult to believe that people allow him to get away with it without calling him out.

Last week we were unlikely to go up because our summer business wasn't good enough, he even started a thread on the very subject. This week, because we've got rid of a player he doesn't rate he's dancing in the streets and predicting promotion even though we haven't brought in a replacement.

If any further proof were needed that he won't be behind this team until the very last vestiges of any previous manager are gone this is it.

" but better players are needed if we really are serious about promotion, not a few on loan who won't be with next season no matter where we finish."

http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/320412

Sunny is predicting promotion on one thread and then that we won;t go up on the next. It's his way of guarantying he's RAA at the end of the season.

He'd argue with himself if he was the only one on here.

I said at the start of the season we wouldn't go up

So being defeatist are you. Don't you have faith in the kids?

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Yes - they're our future, but they need guidance from an older head

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Someone like Stearman? He's the older head in the defence.

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Stearman's crap, as I've said all along you twerp.

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Resulting to insults now are you? Where have I said Stearman's crap.

Stearman's useless in the Premier League. Don't know how he gets a game, let alone MOMs and POSs.

Are we in the Premier League?

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Nit-picking as usual? I said IF we get in the Premier League he was useless.

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

No I didn't. You've twisted my words as usual.

comment by wolfieintheSunshineState (U16306)

Well I for one think KJ is right whatever he decides. Some on 'ere aren't happy unless they're moaning. IN KJ WE TRUST

Another wolfie Classic -- we stand as Much chance as anyone else of going up

So at the moment our chances are on a par with Middlesbrough and Rotherham. I think I can spot a weakness in that argument

I don't really blame Jackett for the series of bizarre comings and goings over the last few weeks. He is part of the team that recruit the squad of course and probably has a power of veto over any incoming players, but the overall policy is set by Moxey, Morgan, Thelwell and Marshall.

He has made mistakes, but has generally been man enough to admit the, and correct them at the first opportunity rather than create smokescreens or stubbornly march on regardless. This is the mark of a good man in my book.

We have been trying to do things on the cheap for years, since Moxey joined the club in fact. Its his job to balance the books. What the club needs is an injection of funds from the owner or an other investor who genuinely wants to see the club move on to the next level. Bob the builder is a business man who knows chucking good money in to a football club to invest in players is a risky business. So he prefers to invest in infrastructure.

Personally I believe Morgan has missed a massive opportunity here, to build on the progress made over the last two years. With the premier league money getting ridiculous from next season, he could have backed the "recruitment team" to build a squad for KJ to really compete for promotion. The problem of course is that he cant be seen to be taking that money back out of the club, he knows that once it goes in he'll most likely never get it back.

So here we are scratching around the bargain bins again and hoping our academy delivers a few more gems worth selling in a few years time.

Some good points, goldi Like most employees, Jackett does what he is told and toes the party line. Unfortunately, he is in the spotlight and consequently gets the brickbats when things aren't going right (he does however get the plaudits when things are going well). Part and parcel of being the manager/coach, I suppose.
The regime at Wolves needs to change if we are going to do anything remarkable, otherwise it'll be the same old, hovering around the top half of the 2nd division for the foreseeable, just as we have for most of the last 30 years.

God, I'm depressed!

Andy Gray . . . Baggies, Villa, Wolves.

You need to wait until much deeper into the season to know if Kenny's decisions are good or bad . . . far too early to tell.

Given what he took over, he's done OK so far, so maybe he's earned some slack.

Partly agree old gold, but I cannot see that the sale of Stearman was forced on him in any way. Only a million or so, if it had been Afobe for lots more then I would sympathise with him.

But the general point that we are trying to do things on the cheap now I agree with. The young and hungry line has long since been translatable to cheap and cheerful to me.

As for Morgan I do think he has on his mind the £13m that Solbakken wasted while other teams were going up with a fraction of that budget. Kenny now is feeling the backlash of that and it's largely going to be produce stars from the academy cause one decent signing a year is your limit.
