its entirely Real Madrid's fault whichever way you look at it
As always, we don't know the ins and outs of what went on.
But it does seem that Real were hoping that by leaving it until the last day they'd get United to lower their asking price.
Personally I feel sorry for De Gea and Keylor Navas, as what's gone on isn't their fault.

Agreed, how long will LVG think it'll will take DDG to get his head right after this?
Also possible at the last moment they got cold feet and made out it wasn't their fault. Navas has started well for them so maybe that's possible and it turns out they didn't want him that badly. Surely DDG must feel let down by RM as they agreed terms two months ago. What must he now think ?
Come on Dave sign and stay at United for the next ten years and be a legend where you will be loved.
Your Mrs will come to like rainy grey Manchester and Weatherspoons !
Who cares? I really don't see the big deal, it was clear RM wanted him, it is clear ddg wants to join them... it is clear United and Madrid couldn't agree on a deal until the last day, who is too blame for this, does it matter?
DDG will join them next season for free, what matters is whether LVG will let DDG play for us this season, and do what he does best.

It's clear a deal was there to be done and yet a deal couldn't be reached earlier
On a side note, would any potential transfer ban for Real only affect the purchase of players, or would it also prevent them from signing a free agent (such as DDG)?

They would be able to sign whoever they want. They just wouldn't be able to register him until the next transfer window.
They would be able to get De Gea and loan him out till Jan if they wished

They'd probably loan him to City to get us back.

Ok, so what? Have you ever worked in sales, some times two people cannot come to an agreement on price. It happens, it doesn't mean one was playing mind games etc. Maybe we were asking for 40 mill plus a player towards the beginning, then caved in slightly on the last day.
Maybe Madrid caved in on the last day, and wanted to pay more.
Not sure why people are making out either club is scuum, for not coming to an agreement in time.
Because rival fans wanted us to lose our best player and are kinda bitter it didn't happen. It'll happen next summer but it means they can't say ish till then lol

Stop waffling on man, a deal was there to be done! I've not called Real scūm or said they were playing mind games.
