Transfer tactics matching playing tactics. No plan B. Will only settle for plan A and if that fecks up then so be it
So...... Wanyama was the only midfielder in Europe they thought they could get who's better than those we've already got? Really?
I don't believe that the squad is good enough to challenge for let alone succeed in gaining champions league football next season, unless that's not the aim for the time being?
The squad lacks experience, experience you'd need in a long season when times inevitably get tough. Even if we had young talent containing the likes of Varane, Koke, Gotze, Courtois and Lacazette, you'd still need sufficient experienced players alongside them.
Spot on from the club. We remained professional throughout the window. We identified which players needed to be moved on, and managed to move almost all of them (with one notable exception). We identified the areas to strengthen, identified the players we wanted, and managed to get almost all of them (with one notable exception).
The Berahino transfer was conducted professionally throughout, we were just unfortunate that our valuation did not match that of WBA. Clearly the club felt there were no other suitable targets for that position worth pursuing. Personally, I'm not sure I agree with that, but I'm not in charge.
Good window overall, and a strong statement from the club.
Ledley's Knee Surgeon
I don't think Levy or any of the big cheese at Spus have said we Have got to Finish top four.
In fact Levy has often mentioned how difficult it is to overtake the likes of Chelsea, City, United and Arsenal considering the money they have at their disposal.
Spurs are ambitious, we wouldn't have bought a world class training facility and be about to build a state of the art football stadium. On the field the clubs collective aim is to compete on all fronts and try to finish top four and win a trophy.
99% of us fans understand that without the extra revenue associated with a 60 000 capacity stadium or having a billionaire backer that we will get top four. For now we just need to stay in touch of the big boys and hopefully win a cup.
They haven't said what the target was which is why I asked the question.
The squad we've currently got will have a job on their hands "to stay in touch with the big boys" I feel.
We didn't even win the net spend trophy

In response to the thfc trust statement earlier I take it.
Good to see we're only buying players the manager wants tho.
Huge dig at the amateur approach of Jeremy Peace in there, and rightly so.
Very strong statement and excellently put
Very much looking forward to this season, and to see how Njie, Son, Pritch get on
I think Ali will be some player in time
I wonder if Sky Sports will be running snippets of Spurs` statement as headline news, like they did yesterday with Albion`s statement?
Good response
I hope we just move on now and hopefully the players will do the necessary on the pitch.
The new stadium is our only viable way of generating bigger revenue and giving us a better change of signing better players.
We're a well run club and have competed well over the last 5 or 6 seasons.
Match day revenues, sponsorship deals and naming rights for the new stadium will help us push on in the future
Excited to see how this season transpires. Hopefully we can be competitive and cement a top 6 finish
All in all a good response, still annoyed though that we didn't go for Ayew on a free though. Also enjoyed the sly dig at Peace and the comment about not buying a player just for the sake of it.
We finished 5th last season behind 4 teams that have either sugar daddies or generate massive revenue streams and can pay huge transfer fees and wages !
We ain't done bad over the last few years really have we ?
Jeremy peace released a statement earlier saying he had been happily married for the last 30 years.
His wife tweeted that she has been wanting to leave him for the last 29 years but he wouldn't let her go
I'm not annoyed we didn't sign players that went elsewhere, obviously the club had no interest
Two options here:
1. It's gospel.
2. Poch is lying to save Levy's face.
Personally I take it as number 1.
To me, Poch (and Mitchell) wanted Berahino only. They could have had Austin for much less but we didn't pursue it. It makes sense that we were holding out for Bera only as no other bids for strikers were made that we know of.
Big call from Poch, huge call in fact. Either egg on his face or massive kudos
Maybe not the case that they only wanted one player. Could be they found 3/4/5 suitable players, but after initial enquiries the others were no chance of signing. At that point they were maybe left with 1 realistic target that had all the attributes they required.
I imagine the team know a lot more about Son and N'Jie than we do, so we may get a little surprise there.
Got a good feeling about the Korean. Nothing other than gut instinct really, but after weighing up his size, pace, nationality and league he has thrived in
Excellent response from Daniel Levy, and true to form very articulate. he has the club 100 per cent at heart, and he gets my full backing.
I'm loving the positivity
