Rather than economic migrants this crisis is predominantly about refugees.

I understand the UK has agreed/are taking around 4/5% of the refugees, which is significantly less than others. Germany for example taking around 34%.

From a humanitarian perspective the UK could do much much more.

The UK does far more than other European/NATO countries when it comes to direct action within Syria. So it's wrong to say we're not doing our bit.

As the OP puts the resolution to this isn't moving the whole of either Africa or Middle East to Europe - it's sorting out the reasons they need to or feel the need to leave in the first place. You can't have 3 continents and move 2 of them into 1 without creating problems - harsh but true.

The reasons for them leaving need to be resolved.

As I've said on another thread, Britain is already the second biggest provider of foreign aid in the world.

£14 of every £100 comes from Britain.

The first G7 country to ringfence 0.7% of our dough.

France (0.36%) and Germany (0.41%) both lagging behind us.

So yes, we can do more in this regard, but other countries could also do more to match us in others

Im sorry this is complete rubbish. Germany is what 4-5 times bigger than the UK and has way more space. There economy is also very good compared to the UK which is going down the hill.

Why is it to the UK to have more?? What are the rich middle eastern people doing to help there fellow muslims? Im talking about Saudi Arabia, Quatar, Oman, Dubai, Jordan ect.

The USA needs to take at least half of them in since they love the Middle east so much.

Unsure if figures were 100% accurate but those were the numbers being discussed on BBC breakfast the other day.

I also understand that the total amount of refugees represent less than 0.01% of the European population. There is no "crisis" compared to the likes of Lebanon which can no longer cope.

The real issue is that the refugees and chancers need to be separated, we should take them as should every country, but it should be on the provision of countries population and size

Had there been no conflict in Syria then we wouldn't have a migrant crisis, we're a multi cultrial society already, why try and act like we're not

Fuzzy

I agree about the USA, they seem to love dropping bombs on the Middle East, and then leave everybody else to clear up their mess. The seem to go missing when it comes to sorting out things like this. Mind you they are having to put up a sort of Berlin Wall to stop the whole of Mexico going to the States, so I suppose they cannot sort everything out.

They have a lot more important things to worry about, like purchasing football clubs and expensive properties in Mayfair than have to be bothered with their fellow Arab compatriots.

Must be plenty of space in Russia.

They don`t like cold weather.

What I don`t get is if a lot of these are supposedly poor refugees fleeing to make a better life, is how come they are all walking about with mobile phones, and I saw one with a Real Madrid shirt on, now they don`t come cheap.

I don`t know mate, I can only speak English, and I didn`t hear any English spoken. Surely multiculturism in England has to include some English people.

We have nationalities from all around the world, why should we stop Syrians entering our country?

What if there was a war in Portugal, would you react the same?
