Troubled soul or not, ow much does he continue to rake in a week ?
You'd like to think that a tragedy such as what happened in Togo would alter his thought process and his perspective on life, maybe even dedicate the rest of his career to those who perished perhaps? Not the case.
Got very little time for him.
He's not in the squad so I'm not bothered, not my money as I'm not a season ticket holder nor do I go on a weekly basis

Would it urt im to say "put my wages on old till i actually earn them' ?
Fair points, GALVAG. He's not really earning his money at the moment, so any funds he passes onto Togo are pretty much coming from Spurs. I don't know much about his charitable ventures, but he does at least seem to use the wealth and status he's accrued to improve the lot of those in his mother country. Not saying he's doing all this out of the goodness of his heart, but I don't actually think he's a bad bloke, just a self-absorbed oddball who is seriously lacking in awareness.
I agree that the greatest tribute to those who died would be for him to play football to the best of his ability, but I don't think we can simply discount how much of a toll that incident would have had on him. Doesn't his excuse his behaviour, but might help explain why he's so defensive and so keen to protect himself by any means.

Ave to say "stealin a living" is bang on the money.
What do I, or any fan know of the reasons for any player's performance which goes from being good to bad at the drop of a hat. Lots of rumours about Adebayor but few can be substantiated by club announcements.
However, we can all form opinions and my opinion is that Adebayor is supremely arrogant.
And this can lead to different results in different circumstances. Two players say arriving late for training, one might say "sorry boss, try harder in future", another might just laugh and think they are fire-proof. Now in those circumstances the manager is key.
Redknapp and Sherwood might very well be quite hard managers with those that don't need it so much but quite cowardly when it comes to dealing with a problem, preferring to hide behind a joke and laugh so as not to lose face.
AVB was almost certainly not like that, and probably Poch as well. In my opinion they would expect the same standards from all the squad and would be on a collision course with those that came across as challenging.
And, again my reading of the situation, Adebayor could push this arrogance to the limit when he wanted to. Not trying on the field of play, being disruptive in the dressing room and not giving a fig for authority. After all, he has a contract and it would be difficult to prove he was not trying. Playing football is not the same as making widgets, where your output can be compared to fellow widget makers.
I sincerely hope that Levy does not give him his freedom and pay up his contract before its actual end. This would reward bad behaviour and give the player the opportunity to add to his millions with another contract somewhere else. I do not think Levy will do so.

Didn't specifically say generosity, just that he has an altruistic side to him. But I agree that it's easy to give to charitable causes if you're being paid £5m a year. I also agree that he should be made to honour his contract, even if that means rotting in the reserves for a couple of years. It might give him a sense of perspective.
Don't get me wrong, I don't feel any sympathy for Adebayor. I think, overall, his permanent signing has been a disaster and we should have taken his history into account when we were looking to buy him in 2012. At the time, though, it felt like we needed him. A few short spells of brilliance haven't made up for a lot of dross. He played well for a few games under AVB and a few months under Sherwood, but other than that has been a liability and waste of space.
I don't want him to wear a Spurs shirt again either. He used to frustrate me like no other player. I just wanted to start a discussion on how his time at the club will be seen in the future, because it can't be said that he's been a complete failure. But, on balance, the bad has far outweighed the good.
Wonderful result him leaving Arsenal,we got £25mil and dropped a bag of shiete on Manchester City.

Couldn't give two facks about the lazy caaaant
He enjoyed that goal against you though, Groovy. I seem to remember the Arsenal fans weren't too happy when he slid in front of you celebrating as if he'd just scored the title-winning goal.
I'm fine with letting him rot....but surely there must be fines we can impose....not fit for purpose....breach of company policies.....!?
Yes I accept he may be traumatized by the shooting incident....and affected by his family issues if true....but he needs guidance.....counselling or whatever....not posting pics of his new phantom and sheet.
He's taking fans/club for mugs.......regardless.
1. I don’t care what a player’s personality is like. Its results I care about.
2. If it benefits the club that we play him – we should.
3. We offered him the contract he is on so he is entitled to fulfill it. He didn’t banish himself to the reserves – we did.
4. Ade isn’t the only player who has been treated this way, this has happened to Lennon, Kaboul, and possibly others. How can you respect your employers if they don’t respect you, or more so “why should you”?
5. Purple patches or not, his contribution to our football club is far greater than more popular players, like Soldado etc.
6. Other players (like Soldado) had far more lazy characteristics than Ade – but because they have a better facial expression – let’s say no more about it.
7. Berahino has practically gone on strike but how many posters will turn a blind eye to that attitude if we sign him in January?
8. If I’d been demoted because of a clash with the manager I would be de-motivated too. Is this really a player problem or a manager problem?
9. Our club is going through a small crisis and we have a player who can help, give us a Plan B, and I would like to think a group of blokes could lock themselves in a room and find a solution – at least something to suit all concerned. Give Ade time in the early EL games or something.
10. There is no doubt it would suit all parties for him to have left but I’m wondering whether the problem lays solely at Ade’s door – and Poch isn’t part of the problem here.
Soldado....was poor..but certainly not lazy....!!!!

Well that don't surprise me that chicken has all positive things to say in regards to Adebayor. When are you going to admit this guy is a parasite and a liability? Had opportunities to join Villa and westham but refused. How the hell is that tottenhams fault? The guy has a stinking attitude to the game and this window has proved it once again

Togo officials have also commented on Ade not showing up for international duty
The official said: "He has not given us a reason. He was in the squad but he has just not shown up."
Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor fails to show up for Togo
You are starting to run out of excuses for Adebayor chicken. Can you just finally admit defeat on this one mate. I did With Lamela so I think you should with this guy. Time after time I keep showing you different reasons why this guys attitude stinks.
8. If I’d been demoted because of a clash with the manager I would be de-motivated too. Is this really a player problem or a manager problem?
It's clearly a player problem chicken when the guy has been pretty much demoted at every single club he has been at. When is it going to get through to your head that Adebayor is the problem and not the managers? Had off field problems with his international team aswell. Give it a bloody rest chicken
