Decent back up but should be gone next summer with Jenkinson back to replace him
Decent back up
When are people going to wake up from this delusion that Bellerin is better than the "shoe in when fit" French International RB? Debuchy has only lost his place due to his long term injury. A fit, in form Debuchy is a substantially better option at RB than an 18/19 year old kid. Debuchy getting injured as quickly as he did, seems to have made everyone forget just how good he was looking pre injury.
I'm not saying that Bellerin hasn't had a good showing but to suggest that a kid should be the first choice a.d relied upon all season, when you want to challenge for the title is ludicrous.
He's already come close to getting himself sent off a couple of times. The indiscipline/par for the course mistakes of a player his age, will begin to mount up the more he plays. People need to hope that Debuchy gets himself back to form (which I think he will) because I'll tell you now, we're not challenging for any title with Bellerin at RB all season.
The thing that gets me about this is the way I know people are going to turn on the kid, the first nightmare he has. Same way you all did Chambers after Montero had him for breakfast. Somebody will soon chew Bellerin up and spit him out too. See how good you all think he is after that.
All our RB's have their issues and none as reliable as Monreal. Debuchy is rash in the tackle, overcommits to winning the ball early and frequently lives on the disciplinary edge. And lost match sharpness with his long spell out. Bellerin is really sloppy on the ball and still needs to sort his decision making. I don't particularly mind either of them, but it's an area we can improve on.
" because I'll tell you now, we're not challenging for
any title with Bellerin at RB all season."
Neither are we with Debuchy. Oh, and people didn't turn on Chambers because Montero destroyed and humiliated him like I haven't seen since Bale vs Maicon. They turned on him cos the woke up to the fact after the new signing novelty wore off that he was a very dodgy defender. Right from the Community Shield game against City were Dzeko skinned him like he had lead boots, or the CL qualifier against Besiktas where he was rolled and dragged all over the place by Ba. He was always dodgy from Day 1. It was after the Swansea game that those in denial finally woke up.

I never said I rate Bellerin higher than Debuchy. I expect Debuchy to end the season as our first choice as I can see Bellerin having a dip in form at some point but I still see Debuchy as just a decent back up. We should have a better RB than him. It's the same as Giroud. He's by far the best striker we have but someone at his level shouldn't be first choice at a club like ours
What an arrogant
From an outsiders point of view, Bellerin is fantastic and easily top 3 RB's in the PL, Debuchy is crap, never rated him at Newcastle ,bit like Jose Enrique, heavily over rated.
It's a bit like a few years ago when everyone would say Zaba/Ivan but conveniently ignore Rafael who had 2 great seasons at United ( i know he's gone off the boil now albeit ), but Bellerin is great, better than Debuchy and younger. Why on earth would Debuchy get in the team ahead of him? Be foolish
Experience is why. It's easy to big up Bellerin whilst it's all going well for him and he's on the right side of lady luck, getting refs who don't send him off when they could/should. Debuchy is not so lacking in talent, that his experience plus his talent, don't amount to a sum total that exceeds Bellerin's same sum total.
The French national team is one of the better sides in the world. You don't lock down a place in it being as poor as some are making out Debuchy is.

Sagna still starts ahead of him for France
Debuchy is average at best.
Bellerin has much to learn but even when he is average we hardly miss debuchy.
Debuchy is in the same class as Podolski and Chamakh, can do a job but my word are they lucky to have played for arsenal.
Bellerin has improved so so much since his debut at Dortmund. That time we needed Debuchy badly. But less than a year, Bellerin has established himself as one of the best in the league, all at only 20. I never rated Debuchy that high. I rate his commitment to the cause, he's a fighter, you need that mentality. He's better than Bellerin defensively for sure, but attacking wise, Bellerin is far and away one of the best around.
The problem is as soon as barca come calling Bellerin will jump ship straight away so really we are training barca players getting them to their peak and then they leave like that bottler fagbregas.
well what do expect.
Barca are a sexy club, not only that, they actually compete for the biggest prize in football.
At the moment we have progressed a trophyless underachievers, to a solid cup team.

Debuchy has lost his place due to his injuries last season. Bellerin was given a chance and he has taking it. First choice now...and rightly so.

Half of what he is worth, like always.
Debuchy needs to win his place back. Unfortunately when u get injured and someone takes your place and they do well u have to work twice as hard and play exceptionally when u get a chance. He was poor against West Ham but the whole team was pathetic that day.
