I'm not convinced, I haven't been back home during many matches but I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves.
Like even the English media give Bale so much attention yet he isn't English.
Keane has always been all in the Irish papers when I have been over there.
Keane record is even more impressive given that he plays for a much inferior team. Still Rooney's achievement shouldn't be knocked, that record stood for decades.
If he wanted more coverage he should have swore down the camera at the Irish fans or stamped on another player's gonads. He only has himself to blame I'm afraid.
I'd probably agree. Rooney's record in top tournaments is poor, and generally england have easy opposition in the qualifiers, that helps rooney.
Still, it's a hell of an achievement, which shows consistency for years. Even if he hasn't been able to replicate in the top tournaments.
Keane is a better player than Rooney anyway.
But any player getting 50 goals is a good achievement but it has to be noted that in Rooneys case he has had little competition for a decade.
Whilst Keane has been around a long time and again has had little competition.
Keane is a better player than Rooney anyway.
........
Wow.
Just wow.
