Glad you got this back up, Kitty.
Didn't he have a brother who was also a goalie? And didn't they swap clubs at one point?

Hi Beeb Yes, Peter Springett was goalkeeper at QPR and in 1967 they swapped clubs. When he retired from football he became a police constable in Sheffield. He sadly died in 1997 from cancer
Hi Hounslow - all good here thanks
Thanks, Kitty. pretty sure I had them both in my Pannini sticker collection!
RIP Ron Springett
Sorry I'm late on your article Kitty, I have only just seen it. He was a great keeper who I believe was awarded a World Cup Winners medal in 2009 for being part of the '66 squad. He was very unlucky that Banksy was just coming to the fore at the time. I had the privilege of watching him in the flesh during his swansong at QPR during the 1968-69 season, which was the first matches I ever attended, before I became a Chelsea fan. Rangers were relegated that year and he didn't get a lot of cover from that defence.
Hi Chelsea, glad you finally got here.
He did get his World Cup medal and he deserved it. Ron Springett was the goalie at Wednesday when I first started watching and he was exceptional. You'll understand it when I say that even Mr Kitty says he was a great keeper. Those were the days when football was 'real' and there were no 'divas'.
As you know his main Club was Wednesday, QPR was just at the start and end of his career. The bulk of his performances were at Hillsborough. We both had great keepers in that '66 squad but Gordon Banks justified his selection ahead of Ron and Peter.
Got to admit that's true - in those days only 11 could play and the ones that missed out were so unlucky. England had some great keepers in that era. I liked 'The Cat' - well I would, wouldn't I?
I'm just leaving work now Kitty, you take care and we'll talk again soon.
Always a pleasure Chelsea
