Much better and I think chronic should atleast come on and admit this considering he gives me abuse for rating him. I have always said put a decent centre back beside him and you will see a different Verts.

wtf don? he has been here for how many years? is this his fourth?… and considering how amazing you said he was when he was at ajax, then overall he has been nowhere near as good as you made out, and last year you yourself were on here giving him stick

he appears to have a good partnership with Toby A and lets hope that continues..

to be fair he has had a lot of shiite beside him for the last few seasons

The advantage of not having to play alongside fazio

verts and fazio was statistically our best partnership last season if you go on points won…. ( i believe)

Really?? Maybe early doors in the season but fazio was a massive liability with his positional play and his distribution

I think fazio is a bit underrated.. but isn't in the same class as Toby A.

Playing a DM had helped the CBs. Think we still should play 3 in the middle though

I agree with everywhere!
But also remember Lloris. Hugo kept us in the game today ..... we had some luck too.
But Vertonghen is playing very well ATM.

Ted

What luck? Palace hit the post twice, but other than that were completely outclassed. Spurs dominated the game, and a 1-0 defeat flattered Palace big time.

Well, their GK should have saved Son's shot.
And Lloris can't always act as superman with saves like that.
And they did hit the post in the first half... a goal then and it would have been a different game.

oh go away ted with your negativity you wingeing old caaant.

Crystal palaces 2 posts completely papered over their cracks today. Spurs were dominating before their 1st smash and grab post and the same before their 2nd. Spurs were by far the better team today

don

we were 2 or 3 goals better on balance of play.

you have to ignore planks like ted, because he cannot even be happy when spurs play well and win.

With Son taking the limelight recently it can only be good for players like Kane and Lamela in terms of taking the pressure of them. Hopefully they will get more space to operate in.

Eriksen played a couple of lovely through balls when he came on and the sooner he is back to 100% and playing like he did this time last year the better. Need Dembele' to come back to give Dier a break soon too. He is becoming more and more important to the team.

I'm very happy that we won. I would have liked us to win by more than one goal. I would have liked Kane to score.... Great work rate.
And I'm thankful we still have Hugo in goal.
And I thought Ali showed what a find he is, only 19 and possibly our next Gareth Bale. Poch needs to keep him playing for the team and not himself.

So... I hope that sets the record straight for Asheholes like Chronic who cannot even read wots in front of them.

I think todya showed how difficult Palace will be to beat this season. Completely outplayed but still dangerous!

We did well today but I think we're struggling to score enough goals...

It's ironic people giving Verts credit for playing well purely because of someone alongside him?!
Surely we should be giving more credit to the other player than, rather than Verts.

Sorry I still don't rate him highly. Yes he's played well this season, but it's only a few games in, and when the going gets tough he chucks a strop and reduces his effort.
Read back to the Stoke game- I'm sure a few on here were accusing him of ball watching!!
