Every club has an element of neanderthals.

I agree. But we seem to be tarred by the same brush when our idiots do bad stuff.
It's good that you recognise that Stuart and I fully agree with you when I think about people like the morons on the Paris Metro (who I condemned at the time), but Chelsea as a Club do seem to produce a reaction in a lot of opposition supporters who seem to just want to point-score with it. I have noticed that quite a few comments like to refer to us a "Vile Club" which always makes me .
I personally think that the new money scenario and the fact that Chelsea are perceived as gatecrashing the existing order silverware parties are probably the reasons for the irrational bitterness. I have a lot of Arsenal mates and they are decent people and wouldn't do the sort of thing that we saw last night.
Chelsea_since_summer
Sadly ‘club’s’ and their fans, are tarred with the same brush. I have read many comments on here stating a particular club is X, Y, or Z. Which is ridiculous.
In regard to the scenes at WHL last night, many Arsenal fans on Twitter were advocating the destruction, or defending it, because “they did the same to our place.”
A quote from the sadly departed David Rocastle sums it up for me: "Remember who you are, what you are, and who you represent.”
Seems to be lost on some.
How can you demand any respect from fans of other clubs when your manager speak like he does? Instead of Mourinho condeming Costa's behaviour at the weekend all he can muster up is yet another comment about the world being against him; "now you can retaliate". Really? Does he ever know when to shut up? You got away with three points and escaped what should have been a longer ban (well, multiple bans), I'd consider that pretty good business.
I didn't see one Chelsea fan saying you know what we got away with murder at the weekend. All I saw was gloating and complaining at Arsenal fans for being upset about our injustice. Respect is earnt.
I respect your Former Captain doing Time and giving up the Sauce after breaking his team mates Hand

Adams served four months in jail in 1990. It was not until three years later when he dropped Morrow – breaking his arm, not hand
There was only one article I remember from the Chelsea board saying that Costa should have been sent off.
I'm sure the bad rep the Chelsea fans have got is due to a minority but like someone already said, it doesn't help when you have such a self centred, obnoxious manager who is disliked worldwide.
And there you go! Your best reply to prove your worthiness of respect is a cheap shot at a former Arsenal player. It's laughable.
What did you think, that I condone Adam's behaviour? I'm sure no Chelsea player past or present has ever done anything wrong in his private life, certainly not one of your finest ever defenders, for example.

Perhaps there was only one article but many, actually I would say about 95% of Chelsea fans know that Costa should have been sent off.
Saying that we shouldn't have respect because something our manager has said is silly. All managers say what's they think is right for the club (most of the time).
I said from the beginning on Saturday that Costa should have gone. But I still think that Gabriel's red should have stood. Or the red cancelled and a yellow in his place, giving him a 1 match ban

I think he'll (Gabriel) get a one match ban later today for failing to leave the pitch anyway.

It depends whether you blindly agree with him and back him up regardless of how ignorant his comment are. I just don't think you'll get any respect from other fans doing that.

On the face of it it probably does deserve a punishment, but I wonder if they felt that the injustice caused by Mike Dean (effectively a 3-point deduction) was enough. If Costa goes and Gabriel stays the 3 points go the other way...

I understand what you are saying but it doesn't necessarily work that way. I remember Chelsea winning 1-0 once at Goodison Park against Everton and we played a large amount of the game with 10 men after Joe McGlaughlin was sent off, so to claim 3 point deductions at 0-0 is a bit presumptious.
Oh and just for the record all of my mates think Costa should have been sent off and were surprised that he stayed on. He will certainly be under the spotlight (and rightly so) from now on and will probably end up getting sent off whether he deserves it or not.

I see your point and it makes sense. However, surely they should follow the rule book? Which is the reason why they are so inconsistent with their punishments.
Outrageous behaviour !
Don't worry tho we are going to start a petition

That's pretty much what happened to Suarez wasn't it? Can't say I sympathise but it is a shame as you do want the best players in our league.

It's hard to disagree with that. I think the rule book tends to be quite vague and open to interpretation (likely that's deliberate).
so to claim 3 point deductions at 0-0 is a bit presumptious.

Of course, however I think the game was fairly even so either losing one player would likely have been the death knell, particularly for us as we can't defend very well with 11 players!
however I think the game was fairly even
Thats only because you were viewing it through Wengers bargain basement beer goggles. You lot were under pressure most of the game with no clear cut chances created. I think you were going to lose either way, nothing in the stats to suggest otherwise. Chelsea have a high percentage of foreign players who have low or no command of the English language and yet opposition fans and the press choose to slaughter these players with comments taken totally out of context even though the real sentiment is known you all twist what is said to suit your agendas, as proved by the recent comments by Zouma saying Costa loves to cheat, all know he meant exagerate or playact but the word cheating is picked up on and worked to death.
