It looks like its going to be Merieles
SSN say its very much alive. Dave Ornstein from BBC thinks its dead. and the other various outlets are stum.
so lets not speculate and just hope for activity
Meireles. Would have liked to see us take a punt on Montolivo
Modric and Moutinho aren't moving
Merieles is 28 and i really think he shouldn't be the type of player we should look for.
I don't think the Modric deal is dead, I think it is very much going to happen, just for a very high fee though.
How high are you thinking?
I think we'll put in one last bid for Modric tommorow morning then in the afternoon Modric will hand in a transfer request.
Modric is a dead deal now but he'll be here in Jan for 50% off.Actually I'm thinking a straight swap for Kalou by then.
Miereless is better than no-one, can get a pass right and brings energy to the midfield.
If no midfielder is brought in we have to give Josh a chance

They're always on the optomistic side, they have to be or they'd realise it's a collossal waste of money having all their reporters standing in club car parks
McEachran!!! I don't buy into that "we need a tempo setter/creative midfielder" bull, Mikel and Lampard can do that!! The reason we have been woeful going forward is because our so called ex-wingers aka Malouda, Kalou, Anelka do not pose too much threat to the oppositions defence so they end up marking Torres/Drogba out of the game. With the emergence of Mata and return of Sturridge we will see a much more dynamic attack that will set Torres/Drogba/Lukaku free as these two(Mata and Sturridge) both have the ability to create and cause havoc for defenders and draw players away from the main striker. You will see. Meh...
I'd be exceptionally surprised if Meireles left us before tomorrow night.
mikel can't do that.
we need luka!

They also said Luky was off to Stoke on loan even though it's against the rules
No we don't, McEachran can do that.

Exactly.
i do beleive it's not the end of the world if we don't get a midfielder, ut I'd prefer Modroc/Miereless to no-one
I would prefer McEachran as I believe he has the potential to be better than Modric or Meireles by january, nvm 2-3 years time.
I agree but AVB doesn't seem to have much faith in josh no appearances so far- must be waiting for us to be 3-0 up in a game
