Yep but we had the same with Rvp, Cesc, Nasri. They looked just as good as times. The one player we truly never replaced is Vieira
The thing is even with Nasri, RVP and Cesc we never really put Man Utd to the sword like we did yesterday. You could say Man Utd were stronger in those days. However Van Gaal has spent a lot on this team and he is no mug tactically like Moyes.
I suppose if we win the league we can call this game a pivotal moment.
Ozil and Sanchez at their best can be compared to Bergkamp/Pires but Theo not close to Henry's level atm. Walcott's all round game has improved massively in the last 2 or 3 years though. Henry and RVP both said they will never be goalscorers but Wenger changed their game/mentality to become world class strikers, even though Ozil not a striker I think Wenger is trying to work on him in the same way.
To be honest i never felt that with Cesc, Nasir and RVP, simply because non of them had that devastating pace that Henry, Theo and Sanchez have. and RvP was never fit for long enough.
It's taken long enough but wow was it good to finally see that trio on form together. Welbeck instead of Ramsey could add yet more pace but if we get the Ramsey of two years ago added to the form bucket it could get special at the Emirates.
I just pray we head into every game willing to fight like Sunday.
To single out 3 players doesnt tell the whole story. Thy achieved the success they had because of the team/squad they played in.

Fabregas - Nasri and co. with RVP upfront was one of the most dangerous attack Arsenal have had in recent times. When RVP and Fab played together Arsenal have above 3.5 avg goals per game (remember the times Arsenal out scored opponent to win games)
Unfortunately this never worked out because
1) We had first team players like Denilson, Almunia, Senders, Sylvester , Dijourou, you get the point..they were chit.
2) RVP and Fab never got to play together for Long..former being more injury prone than later.
3) Constant loss of first team player...(Remember the days every summer rumours about this and that)
4) Stadium debts shackled Arsenal so much we had to develop players and sell..rather than invest in the team.
Arsenal has come far from the dark times. Now we are in so much better position, Wenger just needs to invest on right players! They are out there...as we saw with Martial (his price would have been lower early during the transfer window) to United, Kondogbia to Wherever..etc.
We never really put United to the sword when we had those 3. The most I've ever seen us outplay them was the 3-1 in 01 and even then we needed 2 fack ups from Barthez. Back then they were a lot better though. Honestly think this United team is bang average and will finish 8+ points behind us. The real test will be both games vs City and the home match vs Chelsea if Mourinho is still around. We will need 5 points from those games if we want to win the title imo
how can you compare apples and oranges, im talking about Man United.
since the days of AF there has not really been a Man U team to compare to his teams. In fact this Man U team is very average at the moment.
a Sharticle IMO
"Ozil and Sanchez at their best can be compared to Bergkamp/Pires but Theo not close to Henry's level atm"
As much as I loved Pires and he was a more intelligent player, I think Sanchez is better overall.
