BOOM....wolfie a back in the house

Stears was a average chumpo CH =A

We don't want average chump CH = B

We have youth players equal to that task = C

We want young Premier standard CH = D

Sell the = F

Develop the youth to be better than the you just sold = G

A + B +C + D + E + F + G = Wolfie and Perton are correct again

I love math I do

We will survive without Stearman and in the long term we will be ok.

Can't say my priorities this season was that we survive or that In the long term we wil be just ok. The objective of the club while we are in this division will always be promotion and you don't get promoted by having a plan for the future, you get promoted by having a squad good enough for the current season. Last season we didn't go up and have now lost Sako so have taken a step backwards before we move forwards again. And if we don't go up this season we will likely lose Afobe and Iorfa so will have to start again. The current season will always be more important than next season.

As for losing Stearman the issue is how short it leaves us now, not whether he would still have been here next season. As I have said all along the teams that get promoted will be the clubs with the best squad of 20 not the clubs with the best first 11. We only get up to 20 if you count about 9 or 10 midfield players, and there is a question mark over whether many of those are good enough for a promotion team

"I've been an advocate for bringing on our youngsters for many years now"

You have also been an advocate for bringing in better players if we are serious about getting promotion.

Losing Sako is a massive blow, but you can't blame Sako or the Club for that one, losing Dicko is another huge blow, but we won't be the first to lose a big player to injury.

OOf the 3 losing Losing Stearman is the least concern, we had options to keep him and chose to sell concentrating on building a partnership for the future.

Stearman to me an average defender (good in Champ not brilliant) so I'm happy with what Wolves have done, as for building a squad for promotion, have we given up on promotion now?

Some on 'ere were "darn glad" we didn't go up last season cause we would've been cannon fodder. ....

They will be positively ecstatic when we don't go up this year with a much weaker squad!!

Losing Rickets was a bigger concern than Stearman FFS sake !

I agree with a number of your points Amiga but I fundamentally disagree with the point that you are saying about the Stearman sale. By saying we have sold him to build a better partnership means you are focusing on the first 11 when I think the more important issue is the strength of the squad. By selling Stearman for a relatively small amount we have unnecessarily left us down to the bare bones. I have reservations about Stearman as you do but at the very least the squad would have been much stronger with him than without him. In a number of positions in the team, despite only having two players injured, we are one further injury away from having serious problems, and that cannot be a good position to be in

Morning Peg

I'm focusing on the long term DJ, Stearman would not be part of my long term plans so makes some sense to let him go, obviously it leaves the squad weaker (short term) but I agree with the intentions.

It definitely has a downside, I'm not disagreeing with that.

The only downside, is the time zone difference between here and Florida, which makes me wait in anticipation for our leader to put his authority on this shortsightedness !

His poor wife.

Its not a worry Peggy. He will have selected her based on the fact that she will have cooked, cleaned and listened to bul1sh!t at a very high level. Any females that hadn't done that wouldn't have been worth his time.

no I just think sometimes he's called out on being twattish before he actually delivers..we judge him on his name...and it has to stop

let him act twattish first

Each to their own. I can't be bothered to let him act twattish, so have decided ignoring him is the best policy.
