Fuchs is the new Tunchev - just less broken!!!

I know this is off topic, but on the Spurs board Arro has just stated that he would take Vardy over messi, Ronaldo or Sanchez. I kid you not........

...Which Ronaldo?

Not the fat one.

...And is this taking into account the practicalities around Messi potentially going to prison for tax evasion?

And while we're at it, is this Sanchez in his "Garth Crooks' team of the week" position of left wing back?

posted on 20/10/15

Gareth crooks has Vardy in goal and Sanchez as one of 3 CBs

I don't know, I reckon Vardy could make a great goalkeeper. Fearless, and quick off his line as well.

On the other hand, he'd need to get that wrist fixed sharpish.

TB also said he wouldn't swap Vardy for "any other player" so I'm not alone! He had the same reasoning as me, oddly enough 😂

You're right Arro, I wouldn't

I would. If you get the best players in the world, you change your playing style and you win more. To say that, given the choice, you'd rather have Vardy than Messi is bonkers!

What I can safely say is that I wouldn't exchange Vardy for any player who would realistically come to us.

Oh of course you would! If Ranieri did a straight swap with Madrid, Vardy for Cristiano Ronaldo, you'd be over the moon....

You can't possibly reasonably think that Ronaldo, Aguero or Messi wouldn't offer us an improvement over Jamie Vardy

posted on 20/10/15

Ronaldo won't get the best out of the rest. He'll be the best but everyone else around him will lose their fighting spirit because, in their own admission, Vardy is the reason.

We'll have a world class player and a bunch of good, not great players around him and when we go two down, we won't have that special quality that we currently possess.

posted on 20/10/15

Which is why you change your playing style accordingly. I wouldn't instruct Ronaldo to play like Jamie Vardy; the guy's so talented that I'd instruct him to play like Ronaldo and look at how the rest of the team could give him as much support in that as possible. You're assuming that everyone else would continue trying to play the same way and the same style.

Listen to Dunge arro - he's talking sense

posted on 20/10/15

I'm assuming that we will lose our team spirit! You're underestimating what he does for everyone behind him. I'll repeat this, Schlupp said the reason they all work so hard is because of him. Not because of anyone else. He said they all are how hard he's working for the team and it makes everyone else work hard to help him out. If we dropped even a few percent it would affect our game massively and I'm sorry but you two are massively underestimating that. The reason we can come from behind is because of our spirit, then our ability. Without the spirit we're not all that special and we'd be a team that's not all that special but with a world class player. You're sacrificing the rest of the team for one player. Very short sighted in your behalf. Though in fairness, Dunge wouldn't know anything about playing football and knowing the importance of certain players in a team. This team will be successful playing like this, what you're assuming is that they'l be able to adapt a style that will suit Ronaldo because if we can play like that, why don't we? Because Vardy isn't Ronaldo or because we can't and this style suits our players? Maybe consider that BS before telling me Dunge is speaking sense.

Oh and its documented that Bale and Ronaldo don't get on. They come out and say they don't have a problem but I've read loads of things about them being less than friends.

Wow......!

"what you're assuming is that they'l be able to adapt a style that will suit Ronaldo because if we can play like that, why don't we? Because Vardy isn't Ronaldo or because we can't and this style suits our players?"

Adapting to a style that suits Ronaldo means giving him the ball. He literally does the rest. That's why he's won the ballon d'or and is considered one of the greatest players of the modern era.

To say that we would be worse off if we swapped Vardy for Ronaldo is utterly bonkers

It's a great idea in fantasy land but what about the other related issues like his wages etc.

Plus players like that have an incredible amount of power, would he be happy playing for a top 6 or so place?

Then of course he's insist we bring in other top quality players to supplement him, more wages.......... we have a bad season and go into administration.

No, I'm fine with Jamie Vardy thanks and this reality.

posted on 20/10/15

Forget reality TB, this is a straight up hypothetical would you take Ronaldo over Vardy?

Clearly it's never ever going to be an option, but it's come from Arro saying he wouldn't have Sanchez, Aguero, Messi or Ronaldo over Jamie Vardy.

That's all we're debating here

Arro is now handing out homophobic insults on the Spurs board. Classy guy

If we're not all that special without Vardy inspiring the players then is that not a serious problem? I'd hope (well, expect actually) that the club has a sufficiently strong ethos and atmosphere that players would rally regardless and find a way. If we are genuinely a good team and this isn't all some sort of fluke that we're missing, then it's because we have a whole group of good players who would be adaptable to tweaks or even a new way of playing.

I remember Schlupp saying that he and others and driven on to levels of effort by seeing Vardy. I can see that would be true and I would agree that he'd be the hardest player to replace in our current squad. But in terms of effort, I don't believe the rest of the team would capitulate should be out for a few matches.

While Vardy is important to the success of our current style of play, I don't think that he's the difference between, say, 5th and 15th in the league. I seem to believe in the rest of the team more than you do - and I didn't think that before today because there are things that are niggling me! (particularly in defence.)

As a final point, we had a little fella called Cambiasso here last year, and he remains the single best player I've ever seen in a Leicester shirt. World class players are genuinely on a different level, and to have one in your team can lift it - just as Aguero does for Man City. Many a great team over the years has been built around such players, and if we were to land Ronaldo on a three year contract then that's the team we'd create.
And more players would come to join him.
And it would be amazing.

But it won't happen of course, so we'll have to make do with Jamie Vardy anyway.

posted on 20/10/15

Yes but dunge as Arro said, you wouldn't know anything about playing football or what makes a team, so I'm sorry your opinion isn't really relevant
