Scottish journo's dont like managers unless they're Scottish and their pals
I was thinking that about deila yesterday tbh Ivan
he came here and originally was scoffed at for saying what needed to be said about Scottish football imo, that you have to be at peak fitness, your diet and every aspect should be focussed on you being the absolute best you can do.
originally, they scoffed at him for it, it was pathetic.
Derek McCinnes doesn't get a hard time either. 4 losses in a row and barely a mention

It's ridiculous at times, it really is. The media are (rightly) now laying the boot into United but what's stopped them doing it before? Maybe if they took this tone from August change might have happened sooner at United. It was evident to most Arabs that Jackie wasn't going to last in the job and really should have been replaced in the summer.
A compliant media with the old boys act has kept him in a job for far longer than he deserved.
I think there are some objectives journalists out there, but many of them are just hacks in Scotland, it can be ridiculous tbh.
for what its worth Ivan, I think united will dig themselves out of this.
Surely the media have the right to "scoff" when Roary says things like "Smart people do not judge football on results, they take a broader view" ...
The easy time of it that McInness gets and McCoist get is astounding.
2 defeats and people had Celtic and Delia in a crisis.

Did he say that though or as usual was it twisted?

Looking at Utd's fixtures over the next month I would worry.
If you are still 6 or 7 points adrift by the next international break then I'd start to worry, given that 2nd bottom must play a play off too.
I'd think you would be able to get out of it though. Still got some decent players there and better than the likes of Killie, Thistle, Motherwell imo
McInnes can say what he likes it seems, bit of an odd one.
No balance to the squad though.
We have no natural wingers. On Sunday we played Rankin and Spittal wide in a 442 - neither are what I would consider to be a natural wide player.
With Spittal sent off we need to find someone else to play wide. That'll probably have to be Connolly. Beyond that we'd look at Dow. Neither are natural wingers.
And with Rankin wide we don't have a ball winner in the middle of the park.
Jackie has left us in a total mess.
Would be a great time for Telfer to step up and show that he has talent...

Solution:
Don't play a system that requires wingers
