Is Modric leaving a bad thing?

Bale will end up at Barcelona to replica Alves at left wing back, they've been scouting him.

Mouse - I just dont see why we SHOULD sell Modric? We dont need the money, and more importantly since when do we let the players dictate what happens to them? As i have said before Modric is our employe and should be behaving as such

Who exactly can we bring in for £40 million on low wages that can do Modric's job right now? And to be honest we dont have the time to wait and see if that player can do the job, and what happens if he turns out to be another £28 million Veron?

Why take the gamble when we have the product right now under contract?

If i was a top international footballer and Spurs wanted me, i certainly wouldn't go there if i could see their best players leaving

Alves plays right back

Could be a top four English side or a top team in Spain and Italy.

Bale was unlucky to not come away with a goal and an assist vs City. Small margins and he'll have his moments this season IMO.

his miss was a poor finish, not unlucky, and yes that was a brilliant cross for crouch.

that was a GREAT cross for Crouch, if Ade starts putting them away and Bale is not made to cover so much i.e.Parker or Sandro winning us the ball back he'll be back to his best again.

One man's poor finish is another's unlucky finish.

Anyway, back to Modric. Time to ship him out now.

Exactly why he should only be allowed to leave on our terms (hopefully we can manage it better than arsenal did with Fibreglass!) we're still trying to replace Berbatov

The point is he's not worth £40m therefore sell him now and use the money.

He thinks of himself as bigger than Tottenham.

Kovacic or Badelj would be good replacements, both apparently similar to Modric.

But Diego would be a good signing, we did try sign him when he was at Santos many years ago.

Diego or Flanovic sound like possibilties.

The point is $40m is worthless to us now as we can't spend it on a replacement. If we manage to get a top striker in but lose our most talented midfielder we're not going to get near the top 4.

That would cost us in so many ways - ticket revenue, tv revenue, competition prize money, future players not joining.. basically we could go on a downward spiral that would cost us much more.

He can leave when we get a replacement if he's still sulking

oh and that's £.. unless galaxy want him...

It's not a big surprise though as it's been known for months that he may go.

Sounds like poor planning by Levy if replacements aren't lined up.

Have you just become a spurs fan this week?

You were saying the money is useless if it can't be spent on a replacement.

How long has this been going on?

I don't believe he is

Modric never wanted to go, its was a trick all along.

You see, Modric pretended he wanted to go to Chelsea, making them spend all summer trying to buy him. Now its deadline day and Chelsea still haven't signed a creative midfielder they so desperate want, thus making sure they don't strengthen.

It is pure genius by Levy and great acting by Luka. Why else didn't Modric hand in a transfer request
