Ozil-Giroud

Giroud is most effective when he is fresh, which is why he is performing better as a sub and occasional starter than when he plays week in week out. I think he could even become a super-sub, a phrase I havent heard used for a few years. Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer being a prime example. PLay Giroud every week and he'll soon return to the form that has had me wanting him replaced as CF for a few years now.

50, you don't seem to understand what you're meant to say about Giroud: he is the lamp post, statue, clown, 4am shaagger etc.

It's your article, you find the stats.

Is it me or does it feel like Ozil has assisted Giroud more times than anyone else in the team? Kinda puts damper on the theory where it's said Ozil doesn't perform due to Giroud's presence.
_____________

Still doesn't mean he wouldn't perform better with a different striiker. If anything, it might beg the question of what heights he could hit if he had a better striker to tee up.

Not intended to knock G-roo, just to point out the flaw in the logic suggested in the OP.

I can't be bothered to look the stats up either.

I think the theory that Theo's strengths can make the team play better is a reasonable one, but the stats probably dont back up the idea that Ozil can't play with Giroud.

Theo should thrive off Ozil, but up until now this has just been most used as a lazy defence of Ozil, and a good opportunity to stick the boot into Giroud. Ozil likes through balls; Theo can run fast and Giroud cant. Put 2 and 2 together...

Having watched OG last season in particular, I'm convinced that too many games is responsible for him not having another 5-10 goals each season.. He's so much more for a team to handle when he's well rested. If Wenger can get the rotation right with him and Theo then both could easily have 20+ and one of the two ( staying fit) is bound to push close to 30 with the side beginning to play like Arsenal again.

Giroud is a CF, Ozil is a playmaker up until this season both were undisputed 1st choice in their roles it's not very surprising the combination stat isn't that surprising but this doesn't mean they get the best out of each other.

Ozil's been performing at his very best without Giroud this season that's for certain it's nice he can change it up for the odd game knowing Giroud comes in fresh and hungry but our best football is with the Alexis-Theo-Ozil trio, we must not change that for now
