Thanks pal, you're the bestest ever.

Back to the subject, getting a win away at Bradford in the Tin Pot cup is not likely to improve confidence that much anyway. More importantly we have no injuries or tired legs in the first team ready for a very important game on Monday. And the reserves got a good 90 minutes under their belt.
Now if we can get a result at Charlton, and I think we can, then that is the confidence builder we need!
I think Meggo's early substitutions prove that this tin-pot cup us just a time-waster for us. I'm pretty sure everybody's agreed that we're better off out of it. some of the biggest clubs outside the Prem are treating it like the Prem clubs treat the Carling and F.A. cup competitions....a chance to give their reserves and academy products a bit of competitive football!
Let me ask a serious question:
Why do we state on O.S. fixtures and results page..........a.e.t. for both the Blackpool and Bradford games? Didn't we go straight to penalties?
Blackpool had extra-time and then penalties, but you are right tonights game went straight to pens.
It was clear from 17 minutes in that Megson wasn't interested in winning this one.
I would have quite liked to see the first team playing, as you rightly say, we don't play for another 6 days and we could do with a positive result away.
To be honest I think playing 5 in the midfield is the worst thing we can do away. We just aren't good enough to play whatever system megson is trying, it's not working, it didn't work last night, it hasn't worked in 20 odd away games, I think it will fail again against one of the better teams in the league on Monday night.
There. I'm being negative! Sue me!!!
not sure how your chairman will be happy with the attitude by megson. lets face facts an appearance in the final is worth a million quid. and your playera should be capable of playing the extra 7 or so games. a million quid would be welcomed by the club im sure based on his lack of splashing the cash.
i think you should have gone for it. never gonna win ga or league cup so go out of them but jpt was very winnable for you.
I think it's obvious that promotion is not the main priority for MM, it is the ONLY priority. and the sooner everybody understands that the better. Megson knows that if we are not challenging he will go. the last two managers we had both played good football in patches alongside runs of disastorous form, that HAD to stop and that is what Megson is doing, building an organised, high-tempo, tight defensive unit to get us out of here. Anybody who thinks we should be playing expansive football or going on cavalier cup runs is going to be disappointed BUT we must be challenging for promotion.
I agree, Mike! Last night's result was perfect! Some kids got a run out, we didn't lose 14-0 and we also got some penalty practise! The only good thing about the JPT is that it makes players' end-of-season goal tallys look bigger! A bit like shaving off your pubes!
Very kind of you to say so mester Eckaslike. (touches forelock)

I'd agree with that but maybe now we have the personnel to be able to do it better. COG/Marshall/JJ in the wide positions would offer more pace & a more direct approach rather than someone getting out there & just passing it back inside as we have been doing.
well I hope you're right i_monster, I'm looking at the next 11 league games and 7 are away from home! Continued poor away form is going to get Megson the boot and us lot rather upset at being in the bottom half.
