On top of being knocked out of the Capital One Cup at Sheffield Wednesday, Arsenal suffered a couple of unwanted injury blows at Hillsborough last night. An update to this is that forward Theo Walcott and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are expected to miss the club’s next three games.
Early indications are that Walcott’s injury is slightly worse than Oxlade-Chamberlain’s, but both are set to miss Saturday’s trip to Swansea, Wednesday’s game at Bayern Munich and the visit of Tottenham on 8 November.
There is then an international break, when England play friendlies in Spain on 13 November and at home to France four days later.
They haven't exactly set a return date... Fack it. Season over.
One or both will certainly be out for longer. Both injury prone, and it's Arsenal. Don't be surprised if it's December that they're back. If it was Giroud or someone then it'd be three weeks. Injuries to likes of ox, Walcott, Wilshere tend to always be double the original time scale.
We'll see Theo again for Christmas, I feel fairly confident about that prediction
Christmas 2016 that is.
Might as well send out the kids for the Bayern game.
I fear a backlash and roasting this time.
No pace in the team
I feared this would happen as soon as calf was mentioned. Thank god its a strain and not a pull!
They will both be back after international break.
It's a blow but we can deal with it.
We need to pick up 4 points from Swans/Spurs and we will have done well.
We should go to Bayern and try and grind out a draw.
We just need to avoid losing. We still have out first choice defence and midfield. People need to chill out.
Cech
Bellerin-Gab-Kos-Nacho
Coq-Santi
Joel-Ozil-Alexis
Giroud
It's not suddenly a terrible side. Joel just needs to step up and put in a couple of decent performances
I would like to see Campbell get more game time than he has so far. He has been decent on loan at other clubs and was brilliant against Man U in the CL. This is his chance.
We would have to play the game of our lives to get a result in Germany
