Little by little the defence is being shored up, and slowly there is more energy in the running throughout the game. You can see the direction we are being taken in and it's very encouraging.

Good win.

Great result tonight considering we had the youngsters out. Quarter finals already, that's the beauty of this tournament.

I was very impressed with Conor Randall, he got no plaudits in the ressies, but he was looking every inch a solid Premier League player tonight

So the secret to tighten the defence was a simple tweak. Get the manager to slap players bottoms before they get on the pitch. No envelope tricks or motivational speeches just a straight slap on one cheek.

The last three games have shown how desperately we need a striker. Brutal to think that our first three choices are out. Even if Ings was fit I'd fancy us to have scored more. Firmino has shown enough in the last two games to show he has got what it takes to do very well with us. He needs to play centrally though.

I think the shift out to the left wing would help Coutinho too. He looks like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders atm. I think Ibe might have done enough to get a start vs Chelsea too. Did more tonight that Lallana has in a long time.

I'd play Firmino up top with Coutinho behind. It works for Brazil

Agreed although regarding Ibe let's be honest, he'd be up against far better players than what he was up against today. I think Klopp likes Lallana though.
I agree that he has to start up top ahead of Origi though.

Sure, but Lallana was dire against Rubin Kazan as well. I don't they're a better side than Bournemouth.
